yeah, but I think it might gave been because of koesen leading the lynch on him (see modded PGO/bomb theory)

PGO = paranoid gun owner, someone who kills anyone who targets him/her. Bomb kills anyone who kills him/her, including through lynch. It could be quite easily explained that anyone targeting/lynching the diseased guy gets infected, and killed.
