Keep in mind what I said earlier: it's very different from any of the past people.

So none of this:

Good try, but no.
Question 9 is what I was hinting at earlier.
It's a different part of Asia.

1. Is it a man? Yes
2. Is he alive today? No
3. Was he from USA? No
4. Was he a Musician? No
5. Was he a political figure? Yes
6. Was he from Europe? No
7. Was he from Asia? Yes
8. Was he considered a humanitarian? No
9. Did he die before the 11th century? Yes
10. Is it Qin Shi Huang? No

This requires some thinking. :-k
Not from the "standard" part of asia which indicates middle east or russia. There are no well known people from Russia before the 11th century so it must be in the middle east region.
It's not a humanitarian so it's not Jesus. And likely not any of his apostles because they were all followers of his cause.
I think I need another question before I can answer this.

A sound line of reasoning.

No
11. Is he known for his military actions? Yes

To be precise, that's one of the things he is known for.

I was going to say Saladin but he died after the 11th century. Alexander the great was european, all roman emperors were european, hannibal was either from africa or europe I can't remember lol. But he wasn't from asia. All the egyptian farao's were from africa. Damn I'm having trouble here. Okay here's another try. Is it Sargon of Akkad?

12-14. I am not thinking of Sargon of Akkad, Hammurabi or Nebuchadnezzar.

Good guesses; you're getting close.
So now I just learnt about Sargon of Akkad (I had previously never heard of him) and that's my favourite part: The thinking(, the deduction) and the learning.

Suggestion: At the beginning of each round the "quiz-master?" gives 2 pieces of useful information to start with.
E.g: I am thinking of a dead man
I am thinking of a female author
I am thinking of a french politician

That will probably make it too easy! 20 well put question can crack most mysteries :). A good question is typically something that divides the options into two. "Like Is it a man?" Regardless of if the answer is yes or no you've got what you wanted out of it.
Guessing a name like we do now is only something you do when you think you're close. So I'd be surprised if we didn't solve this one ;).
