I am walking along in the middle of nowhere and I find a train track with a track switching whatchamacallit that is normally automatic, but I trip and fall on the controller. It switches and sends the food supplies for the picnic the wrong way! I realize my mistake and hastily try to fix it. In my haste, a rock falls into the mechanism. This jams the mechanism so that the next train [holding a large supply of the book Cannibalism For Dummies
and heading straight towards the picnic 
But, it isn't my fault that, instead of food, the picnickers got instructions on how to be proper cannibals. Check!! It was all 'accidental'

I quickly go back in time and start a small farm on the right side of the hill. The farm can feed over a million and has every fruit and vegetable known to man(except the deadly ones). We never run out of food.
