Anit-Feudal (kind of)

I would like to see a map that is kind of like the opposite of feudal war:

you take a bunch of actual countries: preferably france, germany, denmark, holand, switzerland (I was thikning a little like a post mideval setting) and then you split them into many very small terrtores (should be about as many as the fudal 2.0 in the drafting room has now [using it as an example to display my point, sorry about any copyright issues about it within cc]) then each of the territories will be one of these categories:

Major city: Paris, Bordeaux, Berlin, ect. all the large cities. (start 15 neutral)
Large Town: all of the other cities currently, but not as large (start 5)
villages: all the left over territories 3 neutral or 3 by certain player)

Here is the twist however: people will start out with only villages, which will be distributed like on any normal map (this is something like the arms race has, no territories that are "special" are held at the start of the game)

So basically a map like feudal of the real world, but instead of starting out with castles, you start out with everything else.

How the bonuses will work:
  • Each region in a continent is a bonus (regions are kind of like the bonuses of the maps we have now o the individual countries, every region will have either a city or large town in it)
  • Each country will be a large continent bonus along with holding each region (should be hard to get if the map is made as big as I envision, I big maps: less luck, I would even hope that this is a scroller)
  • 5 Auto deployed to city
  • 3 auto deployed to large town
  • Holding Large city plus large town in same country provides a bonus (this will not dusturb game play as both need to be conquered, and one city does not make you win since it only gives a bonus for territories within the region)
  • NONE OF the extra guy per two territories in a region, the territory bonuses will make up for that.

Why this map will be good:
  • We need more large maps
  • The gameplay will be like a regular map, yet there are still those castles territories that are good to hold, but they start as neutrals (this makes you actually have to conquer the castle rather than starting out with it)
  • Players have to choose which region to focus on, since the bonuses which are not auto deployed are only given if the territories held are in one area, more you focus on one area, stonger you are there, but you will have to get out into others too
  • Foggy will rock on this map. unlike the AoR maps, where you can see where they are from the log, here you have to relly on your troops in the area, so if you only have one guy on a side of the board, you better keep them or grope in the dark.

This is an idea only, and I have no time or skill to actually make this map real, but if people like it, I hope that someone can taker over this project.

No yes/no poll yet, I want some feedback and discussion before we start deciding whether we like this since I am sure that one of the first posts will be about some major gameplay error.

Sorry i only skim read it but 5 armies for killing off a 15 isn't really worth it.

If you were struck any time btweent hen and 3 turns it could leave you very weak.

Big neutrals are nothing but big problems in any game (i.e New World, the homelands have a big fat neutral 10 on them which is only worth killing if you get decent dice and can hold it for a few turns)

Less neutrals maybe? 6 or so???

I tried to do something similar to this with "euro revolution" but it didn't work.
