Plinko or a close facsimile thereof - Version 0.5.0

Postby KiloJKilo on Wed Aug 20, 2008 8:57 pm

This map contains well over 100 "territories". There are only 3 "continents". 2 continents will contain a continent bonus, and 1 containing a super bonus. Two chip territories will contain a bonus, and two slot territories will contain a negative bonus. Their would be neutral territories strategically placed about the map. At this time I do not believe their will be attack or movement limitations beyond the basic, or any kind of bombarding. So let the Ideas, criticism and guidance begin. I do know the army circles at the top are not set right, I will have that fixed soon.

Thanks

looks nice...
sounds like it could be fun...
the image itself tho might have some copyright/trademark infringement... that just looks like it was a screen shot from the price is right and edited to be a map... if it wasnt, then great job on the gfx but it still looks too much like the PiR stage...

Nice first draft and idea.
couple of questions -
  • Do people start only in the very top circles, then work their way down? If so, you need 8 circles.
  • You may need to arrange your circles a little more grid like (they're just a little off in places). It's kind of hard to tell who can attack who. I'm assuming that you can attack in all directions, as long as the circles are adjacent to you.
  • Did you create these graphics from scratch? If so, nice job. If not - you may have copyright issues.
  • You say there are 2 "continent" bonuses - what are they? Are you speaking of the prize slots at the bottom?
  • This might be similar to maze-craze - where as you connect a line and get a bonus. I would consider making the board bigger (more circles) and making more lines from top to bottom. Some more zig-zagged than others for a greater bonus.
  • What about making the 10,000 slot have about 50 neutrals in it and holding that spot for 1 round will win the game? I would also suggest some killer neutrals throughout the board (you can conquer and hold a killer neutral spot for your round, but the beginning of your next turn it will automaticlly turn back to a preset neutral amount).

It was a screen cap from the price is right game. And i do plan on eliminating most of the background and making it look nothing like Plinko. I am not sure where the players will start yet. The continent bonuses are the word conquer and all the prize slots at the bottom.

What about getting a specific letter, and matching it to a prize slot? For instance, the letter C could have some plinko lines bouncing all the way down to 100. Hold them both(and maybe some spots along the trail?), and you get a +2 bonus, or something...?

This map has been moved into retirement.

It would appear that development of this map has stalled, as there have not been any updates for some time.

If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the CAs will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system ;-)
