Old testament[need Artist to new to Photoshop for this one]

Postby Mr_Adams on Wed Nov 19, 2008 4:42 pm

Ok, I've finally gotten the time to give this map thing a real go, and gotten access to photoshop, so, here's my idea.

What about a map based on the different stories and descriptions of the Old testament of the Christian Bible/Jewish Torah?

Will make a draft ASAP, and post here for critics to shoot at. :D

And I do have a few skews for game play in mind.

ok, this is going very slowly, I'm only working on it in spare time in my graphics class, and here's what I have so far.

this is about 15 minutes worth INCLUDING time spent finding images and figuring out how to edit a photoshop document to make it internet compaptable. Ya, I've spent very little time on it so far...

we're making a map about the stories? i'm confused...

where is the snake, the apple, 2 naked people, an ark, a family, 2 of every animal etc?

is the map gonna be designed with those pictures inlaid? or you mean to tell us you're making a map of the region where the old testament takes place?

ps. isn't this copywritten by some church, or god?

Yes there is a copy right on the display that is on the original image, however, I only used that image to get the general idea of locations(the dead sea and othe natural land marks) and will have that image removed in the next image posted.

The map have the locations of major biblical events in this region (battle of Jericho, Saudum and Gamora, maybe a David and Goliath if I can get a general idea of the location...) and a couple of little twists to it. I'm giving the map thing a shot more to try out photoshop than make a map though, so thi'll be slow going, as it's just spare time in my graphics class.

Could possibly make it like Feudal/New World with the Israelites, Egyptians, Babylonians, Philistines, Cannonites, and Hittites as starting clans/locations. Sure, it wouldn't be 100% accurate from a time frame perspective, but it would be fun!

Just a thought.

If I were to do this, I would make a map of the 12 tribes, and make each tribe an area with a sinigouge as... wait! that's a great idea!

There could even be a center piece representing the Tabernacle!

K, forget this one. I'll try something much simpler before I do this. If somebody want to pick up on a tangent of this, or just go straight where I was headed with the idea, BE MY GUEST! :D
