Nintendo Style

Is it a copyright issue if a map was made on Conquer Club that emulated a world in Super Mario or Donkey Kong video games?
Because I'd be on top of that shit! :P :P :P

Iono- they simply changed pac-man to conquerman and that flied. I'm pretty sure namco still has rights on that one?

As far as I'm aware, Pacman is in the public domain. Nintendo however, is not, and they are renowned for protecting their copyright with their lives...

yes there was an attempt at a legend of zleda map, and also a mushroom kingdom themed one a year or two ago, it is impossible..
had i been wise, i would have seen that her simplicity cost her a fortune

i think if you make it similar and dont use any of the characters, or logos, you are probably fine. ie: maybe just with similar or edited artwork.

Personally, I wouldn't advise anyone to pursue a Nintendo-themed map... despite my love of their consoles...
