'Monopoly' Map!!!

Postby JupitersKing on Fri Mar 02, 2007 6:48 pm

Saw that the idea for a Monopoly map was dropped. But I also saw people who seemed to like the idea, myself included.

Just wondering if anyone still had an interest in this, and would it be worth the time investment to work on it.

Please let me know what you think, and also your likes and dislikes of the original idea and what you would like to see done with this one.

Actually, currently 'Riskopoly' (which is essentially monopoly) is still in production.

Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."

Riskopoly I've seen... very involved. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, looking forward to seeing it finished myself. But what I'm thinking is more of a merger... one direction play, game pieces... of the two games. The problem I see is in programming, and whether there's too much involved in that. I have no programming ability beyond basic level stuff and the ability to read and follow direction.

I see a more rigid game with a game piece and empty neutral 'streets' just like real monopoly. This is why I’m unsure of it’s feasibility from a programming perspective.

EvilOtto began with a more purist approach to reproducing the game, but playability issues and user feedback helped shape the map as it looks today. Yours would be pushed in a similar direction, which would make it redundant.
