after thinking about it somemore, I need some suggestions for a few things.

1. what or how to name the territories? Names longer than 4-5 characters will not fit easily in a 1x1 territory. This wont be an issue for hotel rooms with numbers like 401,402 but on other things it will be an issue. one idea is to make most territories 1x2 blocks, which would reduce the number of territories but allow for longer names. or they could just be named Kitchen 1, kitchen 2, kitchen 3 instead of prep, hot plate, coolers etc. I dunno, I am a bit stuck on this one.

2.I was thinking of adding a 3rd elevator which would be an extress straight to floor 40 and 80 or something. all other elevators would go up 10 floors at a time.

im sure other issues will arrive, but thats what im stuck on now.

maybe you could name each section by its name as a continent and then just put numbers to it

in the drop down it would then read Kitchen 1 but on the map you will see the continent's name and the bonus for holding it then the room itself just has a 1 on it

Or you could have a fire in one of the sections and have OJ Simpson somewhere in the building.

EDIT: Oh, and SimTower was awesome!

You could name the individual territs for Kitchen: K-1, K-2
basically Continent initial..then #.... Hotel: H-1, H-2, Penthouse: P-1, P-2

Yes definitly add the 3rd elevator

I don't think you should add DISASTERS... It would probably be better to do the same with CONSTRUCTION zones

Ill draw kong for ya

I have decided to abandon the rigid grid system and just have the rooms fit the names, so "coolers" will be a bit longer than "prep" this will work best as it will give it more feeling than H-1, H-2

I agree with that method. I hate playing maps with the names all boring and blah.

Relating to the height, it humbles me from my widescreen perch. All have to scroll, widescreen or no. I don't mind it though, but it would be pissy on a speed game

Oh, and if you do H-1 then what if you have hotel, and helipad? ho? he? to complicated... Naming all the territories will be a pain in the ass.
Anyway, cool idea, reminds me of the cruise ship.

yeah this wont be for speed games. and hotel rooms will be named "Windgate Hotel room 801" etc., there will be multiple hotels.

and the scrolling will be intense, but hopefully the small map will at least give a zoomed out view.

so the elevator will be regenerating neutrals... meaning, if at the end of your turn, you leave armies in the elevator then they wil lbe reset to the designated neutral amount, most likely 1 or 2. this xml is not yet possible.

the regular elevators will go up 10 floors at a time. the express are direct to the 20,60, 80 floors. but should there be one or two regular elevator? and should the elevator be able to attack all the doors on the floor? or just on the same side as the elevator. is there a gameplay advantage to two regular elevator shafts or is it just aesthetic? the elevators are pretty important so they need to be sorted out before i break ground.

I will be starting a new thread with blueprints and a construction map this weekend, it will be more ingeniousness.

Mr. mibi Trump, where is the penthouse suite to entertain your pool of Phillopino sex slaves?
