Well, I like the map, and that's all that matters in my own personal universe :-)

at this point I've lost my image maker, he has no attention span at all and got bored making this so he's not anymore and without him I can't complete the map so this one is suspended indefinitly

Hydrogen should connect to Lithium (and Beryllium if you allow corners to connect -- which I urge against) by land and Oxygen by sea (because H2O is water, the most common three-atom-molecule I know of).

The Rare Earth supercontinent should connect by sea only by 57 to 58, 71 to 72, 89 to 90 and 103 to 104, with possible additional sea lanes connecting

The Lanthanide Series and the Actinide Series should be two separate continents worth only 2 each (total of 4 for the entire Rare Earth Metals).

Each uni-colored section of each column should be considered a continent worth 1? Actually, no; strike that.

Metals and Halogens should each be ubercontinents worth 2 additional armies more if you own all the Metals or Halogens respectivly (which themselves are divided into, say, the Rare Earth Metals, the Transition Metals, the Alkali Earth Metals, et cetera....)

Is this too much? I didn't bother reading this thread before posting so these ideas are fresh.

i also haven't read the entire thread so is the deal big bonuses for controlling s/p/d/f blocks? or valence groups? or perhaps a huge bonus for controlling all non-metals/metals?

image programs

Postby CliffyQS on Mon Apr 23, 2007 4:23 pm

Depending on what you like, there are several good ones free for download. GIMP and Paint.Net are both very capable and both free. I have used GIMP a little, paint.net even less, but I think either could handle this.

I wish I had more time for building this sort of thing, I would love to help even though I have little practice. PM if you want me to help with images or help you get these programs.

I just hate to see a good idea die off.

Why do people keep saying there are two liquid elements? You're forgetting Francium, cesium, gallium, and rubidium.

the elements you mention are not liquids at standard temperature and pressure. I'm pretty sure gallium will melt in the palm of your hand (don't try this with caesium or francium). Of course nearly all the elements are liquid under certain conditions.

Please just continue discussion in this thread. Any new thread on the same map will just get merged into the one topic.

Here is update 3 for this map! it has been a long time, but sfhbballnut and I have been working on it a lot.

Image

There are 120 countries.
Cc and Rk (Conquerclub and Risk) are two added elements we put in to ensure that there will NEVER be any neutral contries.

We have been trying to find a better way to do border colors (right now its black is crossable, white is unpassable) but its not working out too well. If you have a better idea, please post it.

All suggestions will be considered.

Please, if you post to say you dont like it, tell us WHY you dont like it.

Ok...I don't like the background beeing 2 different colors.

Is the second column ( looks like pink ) even listed in the bonuses? Also...Some are easy to confuse ( light red/red ). So unless you're stuck....

The white lines don't look good at all, I agree with you. Maybe some chemical bubbles or something? If you make them single-colored lines, I beleive they will never fit.
