don't bump your own map. usually if nobody posts in a map thread it can mean only 2 things:

1. the map is bad and it's not worth continuing
2. the map is done and it's waiting to quench.

obviously 2 is not the case here.

polls mean nothing. the feedback you receive does.

DiM forgot a 3rd option.

3) The community wants to see that YOU are committed to this project.

Some of the people here HAVE commented on your map and things you could do to improve it for the next version. Until you show a willingness to make updates (10 days since the last comment), people aren't necessarily going to continue providing feedback to someone who may or may not continue.

You have to take the initiative and make the updates suggested (or refute them). Once the community sees this, they'll be more likely to come back and provide more constructive feedback about the map.

On a side note, most people here respect the quality of the work as opposed to the quality of the mapmaker. The quality of the map so far approximates that of your own reputation.

I'd say that DiM and Aerial are both right... polls that ask something as simple as 'should i continue' tend to get overwhelmingly positive response, even if the map shows little promise. This map does indeed show some promise, but US state maps are usually a hard sell because they have limited appeal, and a 2/3 positive vote isn't very strong as foundry votes go.

Aerial is dead on about why nobody is commenting. It's been my experience that if you don't post an update at least once a week your feedback will dry up. You haven't done any work on this since September, and everybody is waiting to see where you are going to take this project... there are so many potential maps in production the foundry can't possibly pay attention to all of them, so there's no time for maps that don't seem to be progressing.

Anyway, there was discussion on adding a theme, questions about the continent breaks, concerns about bonuses, the territory size issue, map size issue (dead space), etc... you have a lot to do.

i read the thread and here's what i see.
a bad map from many points of view. the most important being gameplay and theme. i'm not talking about graphics since for a first draft i'm willing to accept anything. even images made on paper and scanned.

then i see some people giving feedback, you counting votes and bumping and spamming, you hoping for final forge (lol) and that's it.

if you think you can post an image then collect feedback for 1 month do a second update and get it quenched you're wrong.

updates should be done as soon as you receive the feedback. on AoM i did almost 80 updates. sometimes i did updates based on 1 feedback and i never waited more than 1-2 days to do an update
