if you don't like a map, JUST DON'T PLAY IT
Old street is one that got the chop (but I haven't wiped the name yet)
Each circle is a territory, and when there are a few lines with a circle at the same location they are all adjacent to each other. So, for example, someone with armies on Marylebone could attack Baker Street, Bakerloo (with the brown edged circle) then go on to attack Baker Street, Metropolitan (purple), then finish off with an attack on Euston.
It would take a bit of getting your head round, but then so does everyone being able to take their turns at once, right.
It's at least a different sort of map from the regular types. And at least as interesting as a map of, say, Brazil.
I'm torn between keeping it looking as much like the tube as poss and clarity of gameplay (hence all the extra little symbols) maybe the stations I dropped should be included without circles, too, for educational purposes ;o)

That makes sense to me. It would definitely be a good idea to have a note on the map clarifying that, though. Hmm. I wonder if the circles are big enough for the army counts to fit on without it looking too strange?

Definitely. No objections about that from this side of the room.

There'll probably be some difficult compromises to decide on as the process goes along. For example, one way to address the issue of how many countries there are would be to drop a couple of lines from the map entirely. This could also help address the matter of some of the continents having an awfully high proportion of borders. But on the other hand, it could be argued that this would be sacrilege of the worst degree. (But that would only be true if Mornington Crescent one of the casualties.)

I think if it's well done it could be a really good map but also if you aren't ready to work hard on it, then it's gonna bomb.

Guys, that's cute and stuff, and I think you're funny, but you're bordering on spamming there.

I dig this map with the exact equivalent force and weight to Marv's dislike of it. Whatever comment he makes against its viability, imagine that I've made the inverse comment in favour of it.

Ok, ok... I know that there are guys wanting the privilege of design the worst and less used map ever.

No doubts I will not play. In fact, I was surprised of how lack accepts squares as a map... now I know we will soon have a pack of lines and circles too, since lack accepts all. I will not comment. I will only use rock tactic. Whatever comment all players, plus your parents and friends make in favour of this map, imagine that I've made the inverse comment against it.

Only for register: I have nothing against you, fluffy, or any others here. I simply hated the idea from the start.

Here's an updated map
And here are the stats:-

Image

where x is the multiplier, def is the no. of territories that need defending, att is the no. that it can be attacked from & neighbours is the no. of continets bordering it.
feel free to comment & suggest tweaks
(I use this formula in my standard risk 'house rules'. It gives: Na 5, Sa 3, Eu 6, Af 4, As 8, Au 2)

Well how about...

Same thing nearly! You could make a whole series of maps for every major city!

But seriously, it's a unique idea for a map, but I feel a little too off the wall. I'd give it one play maybe, but I don't think many more. And it seems a few others wouldn't either.

Well, the bonus numbers you came out with in your grid all look pretty reasonable to me. I might've called Northern 12 or Bakerloo 8, but I've no objection to the 13 and 7 they have now. I notice that the map itself lists different bonuses in the legend, but I assume that's just because you hadn't gotten around to updating that yet.

More importantly, though: are you sure you want to have A) that many different countries and continents, and B) that high a proportion of border countries? If you do, then that's your choice, but I'd advise against it. ~80 countries and 10 continents is an awful lot: even 60-70 countries would be a lot, and would certainly fit the bill of "really big map" perfectly well if that's your goal.

Yeah, but The London Underground map was the first to utilise the wiring diagramatics idea, and therefore is a classic
