It's still a good idea, but there are a couple things...

-First and foremost: There can be NO link to this map back to the original Monopoly board game because of copyright issues. The locomotive and the cop MUST be removed. Also the colored blocks are in exactly the same order as the original Monopoly, mix it up a little to prevent any copyright issues.
-You are using the names of other maps on CC, did you ask if it was ok to use them from those mapmakers? This isn't as big a deal, I figure they won't have a problem with it, you just have to say you asked and they said it was ok.
-The gameplay is extremely one dimensional you can only go 1 way around the board? I understand this is the way you play Monopoly, but this isn't Monopoly. There needs to be multiple avenues to victory. I admit there can be some interesting strategy involved here, but the fact remains that can only move in one direction... There are a large amount of Monopoly details that you could add to allow for different gameplay. Hotels, houses, game cards, cash, dice!

Again the major issue you have right now is the copyright issue. I won't get into graphical issues since it's too early for that, the graphics are simple a decent looking, but when you get to that point they will need to improve. To get further along this path you need a much more well thought out plan with the gamplay. It is far to much weighted to the players that go first. Honestly, you need to take the time the Foundry is shut down to flesh out your ideas. Jump back in with the New Year and show us what you've got!

having read someway through the thread.....
1. my main concern echoes other sentiments with this -> the copyright issues that might arise. before you go any further, i get some advice from lackattack or Andy Dufresne if they want the project to proceed, and if so how different does it need to be from the original. commentors lilke myself will give general advice but since this is lackattack's site, best to get the word from the master hisself.
2. Should the map proceed, perhaps you could thought in regard to the linear layout of having cards laid out in the middle of the board that connect to certain territories so that the play then becomes non-linear, or
3. create another new layout that is a *opoly square inside a * opoly square and has links/cards creating flow lanes between the two squares. possible example below -> (you've got to think outside the square of what the M* game is)

I assumed that there was some copyright issues. i will work on new train logos and a different go to jail picture. i will try to think of other ways to seperate this map from the actual monopoly board, but keep in mind that a lot of the fun in this map derives from its resemplance to the original game.

as for the gameplay. thats more up to targetman377. it seems that he pretty set on having it go one way clockwise, but i dont care either way. i think that we could put in cards in the middle of the map for some more variety in the gameplay.

as for the gameplay me and clifton are going to get monolopy board and play on it and see how it plays as for one demetional there is free space and also the go to prison also i think i will add a advance to boardwalk and st charles place kind of!!!! so
