Don't worry P Gizzle, that's fixed in my next draft

Nunavut, Ontario, French Canada. How's that?

Palatino? I'll try that, thanks.

Maybe I'll switch to cities, so... Igualuit, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax?

That sounds really good, looking back the font you used in your first one didn't look to bad.

Download photoshop CS2 from adobe's website and I'll hook you up with a keygen.. that is almost necessary for making maps.

Hmmm, NATO? Its called OTAN here... Organização do Tratado do Atlântico Norte... NATO here is the name of a whisky :)

Maaaaan, this one is really bad until now... let me see. Beyond the blocky BLOCKY borders and the solid colours,... and the very confusing legend...

Well, for what the founders bonus? In practice, its unholdable until the game is decided... and it looks really bad with those area names... you know, Norway was a founder, not Oslo. Same to Venice, Paris, etc... so, worthless idea, I think. Well, and like people said, cities names are really not ok. If you need split a country, try region names, like Normandy, but not cities names.

What Puerto Rico is doing there? Its not really a country, and it adds a good portion to the map... so I wouldnt like scrolling to much just because of it. AND, it looks like a spaceship of an Atari 2600 game

The ocean attacks can be interesting, but so lets do it right. Most ports have same dots, not usefull. You can put the anchor in a shape, like a circle, filled with the proper colour. Lets do it simple, not necessary 2 or 3 colours to the same port. As there are many coastal territories, you can create ports of 3 colours maybe, connecting to each other.

Its just me or you are using subcontinents? Dont do that, mate. It would be confusing, and excess of features its not a good thing. I think we should use instead the America and Europe supercontinents, and the ports idea, maybe a bonus of 1 (not 2!) to Belgium.

In fact, I like the font... it matches the simple ocean texture, and add an atmosphere of "student made map" that Im liking a lot. And Im serious about this.

If you keep that territorie so big = Benelux
If you make ik smaller = Belgium

seeing most people don't even know where it lies, so more belgium's we use on maps, the more people learn!

How much does Photoshop cost... I'm getting nervous.

Everyone knows where Belgium is! Sometimes we just get it a little confused with Holland tho :)

Ok Marv, I was thinking about removing the founders' bonus anyway.

New draft is on the way!

wtf is with your "eskimo canada"???
please change it to "inuit canada"
The word eskimo is offensive to many groups of people that live in the north, and also a very broad, innacurate term, and i think is should be changed so it is not biased against one area.
www.answers.com wrote:USAGE NOTE The preferred term for the native peoples of the Canadian Arctic and Greenland is now Inuit, and the use of Eskimo in referring to these peoples is often considered offensive, especially in Canada. Inuit, the plural of the Inuit word inuk, “human being,” is less exact in referring to the peoples of northern Alaska, who speak dialects of the closely related Inupiaq language, and it is inappropriate when used in reference to speakers of Yupik, the Eskimoan language branch of western Alaska and the Siberian Arctic. See Usage Notes at Eskimo.

And about the map:

right now, it just screams "i was made in microsoft paint!"

the colors are all bland and the overall image isnt very attractive.

the way the stars are laid out, it looks extremely unorganized and rushed.

also, all of the text in eastern europe needs a complete make-over. some of the words are overlapping, and the black text and the black borders crossing make it really hard to read. I like the font, but not how it is all arranged.

there is no room for the army shadows in many of the european countries.

overall, it just looks very sloppy and not well done.

Just one thing that I really dont like is the name "Scandinavia".
Cultural: Scandinavia is the three countries of Sweden, Norway & Denmark.
Geographical: Scandinavia is only Sweden, Norway and a small part of Finland (the northwestern parts).
And well Sweden and Finland aint part of NATO, and the rest of the countries on your map aint part of Scandinavia :?
Cant it just be called Northern Conference or something :) I dont know
And like the "Germany" part might be offensive to some
Well well just me saying some shit thats on my mind hehe

I've been following this from the very first post and I'm not trying to offend, but I just don't like anything about the map. Maybe NATO just isn't the best thing to base a map on. Again, not trying to offend, but nothing about this map appeals to me. The visuals are bland and the playability doesn't appeal to me.

I'd like to offer some constructive critisism. I think the map is extremely busy and confusing and could benefit from being simplified. People complain about World 2.0, but I find this map a lot harder to follow and understand. I feel that you need to be able to easily identify all the attack routes, something that is lacking here.

Back to the map, this has potential for good playability but is really ugly, you need to get photoshop.
