Okay...where do I start...? First of all, I know that none of you know the changes I've made since my last reply, because I haven't posted it yet. I'm not ready to.
Jako: I think you misunderstood my post to misterman. I didn't contradict myself. My mind IS made up on what I meant. I want it to be a challenge like the world map, yes. I said that. I also said, nothing against the world map, but I don't want my text everywhere like that map. Granted, it couldn't be helped on that one, especially with the islands, but unless you're looking closely, it's hard to tell what some of the territories are, especially the first time playing it. So yes, I want it to be a challenge like that map, but no, I don't want my text everywhere like that map. Hence the reason I was trying to fit town names and army circles in together. I stated both of these things in my post to misterman that you quoted. Also in that post, I said that I left off the circle for Waco, which wasn't actually intentional. I just missed it, and realized it after it was posted. I have also changed the bonus amounts to what I thought they should be for the amount of territories and how many borders have to be defended. But again, I haven't posted the changes. I centered some of the town names and circles, once again, on the new update not yet posted. Oh... and I never said ANYTHING about Texas being the world, and although I'm a born and raised Texan, I have not and will not ever have that perception. My vision is to have this map be big and challenging like the world map, not to have Texas be "the world". Thanks for your opinion.
Gimil: Thanks so much for looking up and posting the Texas rivers map. I appreciate it. The bonuses, really, I put on a number and knew that everyone would have suggestions, opinions, rude comments about the number, but since this isn't a final map, I just filled the space and was waiting. Guess I should've said that... I changed the title so it doesn't overlap - it's on the new update. I have changed the legend (text and size of the text) to make it a little more readable. The territory names aren't actually distorted, I just put a very light drop shadow on all of them to give it a 3D look, and had decided not to make the shadow dark. You're right about the borders. They're square. I can't give you a reason, but I just didn't want to have any of them smooth or rounded. Guess that's just me. Also, thanks so much for also showing where you'd like the rivers. That will make it easier. Thanks for the feedback and the help!
onbekende: I've changed the bonus numbers to what I thought would be suitable, and they're pretty close to yours, if not exact. Will post an update soon. Thanks!
Hilo: Thanks for the feedback from a fellow Texan. These aren't exact county lines, because on my limited time, it would take weeks and weeks and weeks, or months for me to draw them exactly. I was going for general area. i.e. the Austin area, the Dallas area. The big towns are full of suburbs. But with Victoria, you're exactly right. I don't have it far enough east, but that's easily fixable. I think I did have Huntsville on the map originally, but with as many times as I've tried to go over and make changes and this and that, I left it off. The -1 for the prison is a great idea. And Erin sucks, I've been watching the coverage. I hope it doesn't get too bad, because all my family is there and getting dumped on again with the rain is the LAST thing you guys need. Stay safe!
So anyway, to everyone: I'm working on changes, and additions, and I'm trying to be efficient even though my time is limited. I'm not going to get rude even if I get less than ideal feedback, but I very much appreciate all of your comments/ideas/suggestions. Just bear with me, because before CC, I'd never tried to draw a map... so I'm learning. Another update coming soon.
