First of all.....Zagorie is in Croatia not Slovenia , Sriem is spelled Srijem and it is also in Croatia although Sriem on the map is in Serbia but why didnt you name it Novi Sad or something like that beacouse Srijem is not in Serbia....it was for a while when you conquered it and burnt down everything in your way....fired rockets at Dubrovnik and etc. Also Kraina does not exist any more and the correct geographical name should be either Lika or Gorski Kotar beacouse it is also in Croatia.
Second its stupid that Croatia gets 8 bonus armies and Serbia 7 beacouse Serbia has 12 or more countries to hold and Croatia only 10.
Third I am very sorry that croatians burn down your house but you dont have to get back at them by drawing a uncorrect map of Yugoslavia especially when you know that people wont be happy with the names like Kraina, etc.
And finnaly i hope that people know who started the war in the beggining....The correct anwser is the name of the man who drew this map. (also known as Slobodan Milosevic who was in prison for the ethnic cleansing of bosnians and croatians and murder of innocent man, women and children.)
Also they are trying to find Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic the Butchers of Sarajevo and Srebrenica whose Serbian troops viciously sloughtered thousands of innocent people...

If you look at some of Mighty_Serbs previous map edits, you will find that some of the mistakes you have mentioned were originally there, but were changed to make the map more playable, eg. Zagorie was part of Croatia until the map foundry told him it would be more playable if it was part of slovenia.

You might have a point with the Croatia and Serbia bonus armies though. Croatia may be a bit harder to hold than Serbia because it has an extra border, but maybe they need the same bonus armies.

Since there seems to be so much flaming and such here about the map, i have made a flame thread in the flame forum where flames are meant to be. Click Here.

rogi - slobodan milosevic is dead, read the news. He died an indicted war criminal, and was (in the view of most) guilty, but why should that stop us having a map of the region? We already have (imperfect) maps of many war-torn regions around the world.

the map - excellent work, this is really coming on, nice mountains and bridges now, agree that it's time to see some circles, sea that looks like water, etc as others have said. Keep it going.

[quote="mighty_serb"]My first reply is as following:

Vujo is a Croatian nationalist/patriot, call it whatever you want. He complains that there is no KRAINA and that this map is a creation of Greater Serbia.

So Kraina was annaxed by Croatians, so I put it as part of Croatia (not part of Serbia as Vujo thinks). Kosovo is full of Albanians (with Serbs expelled) so I made it separate from Serbia.

I made Serbia smaller in this map than it is under current 'political' boundaries.
Srpska is a Serbian republic which does not recognize sovereignty of Bosnia, but it is part of Bosnia because it got annaxed under the DAYTON agreement. However, Bosnians and Serbs still acknowlege it's existance (Bosnians are trying all they can to eliminate what remains of it politically).

Issue of Slovenia I cannot change, because it would make this map unplayable, unless VUJO has some better suggestion (except make everything Croatia)???

quote]

you are so funny:)))
1. I didn't say that kraina is in Serbia, just that that name doesn't exist!
I live in Croatia so I'm telling you that the name is false! name it Gorski Kotar or Lika or Kordun!!!

and For Slovenia if a part of map that says Zagorie must be in Slovenia so it's playable than don't name it Zagorie think of something else like Maribor or ......

and don't speak of nacionalism to me,I know your kind.

I am doing the map all over again since I can't fix some suggestions without creating a whole new map. So it's going to take me a day or two.

However while I am doing this, can anyone please let me know how to put the army shadows????

what was wrong with it? the only thing i thought that sucked visually was some of your bridges that looked more like tree trunks (I didnt mention anything then because you said it had taken you half a day to do it.).

Haha. i suck at drawing bridges.

Can you draw me a bridge and send it to me plz?

Well nothing is wrong with the map. I'll keep everything, I just needed to re-do the surface of it before I place items on the map.
So before I move onto placing things,
I wanna hear suggestions regarding the colours, shades, borders, so next time I won't have to redo it (I got tired of redoing in the past so I wanna do it this way). New things: textures, colour of the sea, lighter colours (as I will apply black letters for labels).

Cheers

Why dont u put in a picture of the Stari Most as a bridge (i got bored so i went and researched yougoslavia bridges)? I think the pictures from this site would be the easiest to convert to map form.

Even though I'm new here and even though I am a bit late in commenting this topic, the name got me interested to see what would the Former Yugoslavia look like from a "serbian" point of view...
I dont want to get into the history since Vujo said everything I wanted to say, and more...
I'm from Croatia too and my girlfriend's folks are from Zagorje, so I demand that you put it a part of Croatia...if you dont want to, dont care couse I wont play this map when published...but those are the mistakes that piss me off...
if thats a problem, bcs giving Croatia Zagorje makes Slovenia too damn small, so what? It s small anyway, why blow it out of the proportion...cmon...my bathroom fits two Slovenias diagonally :)=

Shade I think Mighty_Serb changed it for playability reasons.

I'm just glad that someone has decided to do this map of Former Yugoslavia, Would also like to know when it will be playable. The Map itself is great, just can't wait to play it. Good Job mighty_serb.

Former Yugoslavia (revisited)

Postby mighty_serb on Wed Aug 01, 2007 4:11 am

Okay, I'm back on making it (I want to finish it)
Now, I am not very skillfull with design programs, nor do I know HTML, and I am not particularily good with new ideas, but my idea came a while ago (some of you may remember this map), and then it died as I didn't know what to do next. Well hopefully some of you can help me with tips, and once imagine is done, with coding.
By the way, I use photoshop CS2 (so any tips for that would be also helpful).
Here is the image I started SO far. I know I used to have a more completed map, but I found that once a map goes too far, it gets harder to edit the basics. So I am starting with these basics.

Image

I got background, territories, continents, mountains, I just need rivers and names to be inserted (and a legend of course). What else?

In other words,
what should I change on what is presented before you (and then we can add other stuff later on)?

That's a splendid idea! :D

PS. Sorry for not doing that with my latest one...

To Serb: I think that layout is pretty good. You should probably try to get some textures going on the territories and make sure that you can fit names and army circles in there. The northwest corner has a territory that looks a little small. So that's why I say that. There is also an orange one that is c shaped that looks like it may cause some difficulty.
Warning: You may be reading a really old topic.
