Yeah, at first glance I thought New brunswick and Nova scotia were one bonus area. And I'm not even colour blind.

Something needs to be switched. Those two bonuses shouldn't be next to each other.

If you make that switch, I think some people might claim the new Est du Quebec and Sud du Quebec would be too close.

I think the most logical switch (and I agree that one should be made) is to switch Nova Scotia with Labrador. That should give a sharp contrast amongst all bordering bonus regions.

Version 13
- moved the Saint John text to make room for 888
- swapped est du quebec and new brunswick colors (but not sure that helps colorblind see filters below)
- added a border to map
- added a whale and a compass rose for flair
- added red to logo to give it some contrast and make it stand out a little

Yes, I'd say so going by these filtered images.

Very nice update. However, why not pick out a new color entirely for New Brunswick instead of changing it with Labrador? I personally think that the dark blue in the south would be sort of an eye-sore... But maybe that's just me.

it could be a good solution.
But in the same time you (dolomite) should consider that tritanopia (the 3rd test) occurs in about 0.3% of females and only 0.001% of males, so personally I think that the first two tests have the priority.
I'm going to ask a second opinion to a colorblind friend. ;)

Well judging by how much some of these colours change with the colour-blind filters, one would really be taking a chance starting with something entirely new. I would say go with the swap, since it would not make the first two any worse (and only possibly slightly better) and it would be a good fix for the third, even if the population of such sufferers on CC might be only a handful.

I don't think it would be a problem, so it might be just you. ;)

Glad to see this one being resurrected (yet again) from the fires of Mount Doom... (hope I'm not infringing on any copyrights with that statement). I think the updates look pretty darn good, but the whale and compass 'flair' are so faint that they are nearly invisible (particularly for colorblind folks) and should be brought out a bit more. Also, I think the border would look better if it were a solid color, perhaps with some kind of effect (emboss). Look's great otherwise though, and I really dig the new color scheme on the title. Props

Here below the answer I was waiting for
Hope it helps ;)

I've always had trouble with the colors of Duplesis and New Brunswick. The problem is especially serious since the islands between them may belong to one region or the other.

I think the compass rose should either be moved or removed again. It might just be me, but I can't stand parts of the eastern peaks being chopped off...
Also, the whale actually adds to the map, while I find the compass rose does not.

But as a whole, nice updates! We might get there ;)

I actually like it. I think it gives a nice direction to the map.

Yes it should be... Thank you for reminding it, it is now there.

So let's keep the activity, what else needs done, do you see anything besides the colors?

I've got nothing. I am just happy this map exists and that we haven't forgotten to consider colorblind players in graphics design. That was something I was worried had gone away during my absence and it is refreshing to see it is still around.

Can't wait to play on this map.

We WILL get there. Glad to see the graphic's workshop is a bit more active than the Final Forge was when the map was there. As per graphic's, the color swap is the only thing I personally think needs changed.

The new title looks awesome, and the whale does add to the map quite a bit IMO.

So yeah, right as I say the Graphics workshop is rather active, it goes quiet...

Anything else need changing in the graphics department?

And when we do get the graphics all sorted, where do we go from here, back to Final Forge?

The colour arrangement needs to be fixed for the Deutenerope test, which is the most common form of colour-deficiency. The real issue, as nobodies mentioned earlier, is Dupleisiss (apologies for spelling).

I'm seriously beginning to think that the map is going to die after all. If it does, I still say we gave it one hell of a run. =D>

Awesome Dolomite, I appreciate you still willing to work on this map. I know we're close to the end of this LOOONG ass journey, but I'm hoping once the map is up, it'll all be worth it. I personally can't wait to play on the map.

When Dolomite gets all of the graphics sorted, does the map head back to the Final Forge for more foundry criticism, or do we have to go through Gameplay again as well? I'm confused when it comes to the order in which a map must pass through.

Also, what part of the foundry is XML considered? We still don't have the XML stamp. As said before many times I'm sure, the graphics must be settled first, but as soon as they are, a quick test should show that the XML is ready. The last few updates have only changed eye candy, and the circles have not moved at all, only text. I'm fairly confident in the borders and bonuses, the only thing I'm slightly worried about is army number locations.

Currently, the normal progression through the Foundry is Design Brief (which you won't need, that is only for new ideas), followed by Gameplay Workshop, Graphics Workshop, and Final Forge. I understand that you guys had to rework the images, so that put you back in the Graphics Workshop, but if the borders and bonuses are unchanged from what you had when you got your Gameplay stamp, I see no reason for the Boys in Blue to send you anywhere but on to the Final Forge again. FF is where XML stamps are issued, but I see no reason why you couldn't use the XML you have now to create some test images with 88's and 888's on the large and small maps via the Map Inspect Tool so you can get some feedback on army number locations.

OK... Monsters is in Beta ... I will now turn my attention to this map... I need to redo the way I layer the territory borders from the actual territory colors ... this will help me adjust the colors and get the map finished ... I plan to work on it over the next 2 days... i need to drag out my art tablet and see if it works with win 7 =) sorry for the long delay ... I just got engaged so I have been a little preoccupied as you can imagine.
