There is already a Japan map being developed, so yours would need to introduce a considerably different & unique gameplay, and theme...

For a first time mapmaker (I assume you are, sorry if I am wrong) it would probably be a lot easier to find a subject that hasn't already been covered. There would be less expectations placed on your shoulders, and people wouldn't constantly be comparing your work with some other map...

No prob, hopefully the Japan map (I'm the cartographer by the way ;) ) is just a tweak or 2 from the Forge and Beta testing :D
