First off your time limit, ridiculous. Also, I've taken the liberty to correct your English in the quote if, unlike Qwert, you have an interest in improving it.

Now that I'm done being rude, I'd love to have a Scandinavian map.

Edit: Looking at the map you suggested, is Denmark really that much smaller then the other Scandinavian countries or is this map warped?

tha map above will get devided in areas so it fits more the game. denmark are that much smaller than the other counties.

the north part could also being made as country of laplanders.

And I know that my english arent the best so there anyone can correct me without me taking offence.

You actually didn't do too badly with your English; it got the point across.

On a different note, I would like to see this map come to life. It would be fun!

Nope. It's small. Just a small piece of land to keep between the rest of us and the Catholics on the continent.

However, is it a Scandinavian or a Nordic map? If only Scandinavian, Finland is out. But if Nordic, perhaps it would be nice including Iceland in the map, then adding Karelen, and Färöarna?

But in any case - is it really necessary to include Norway?

like the idea. i think it would be good if you included all the baltic countries in game and make baltics map instead (would bring up number of territories considerably). keep it up!

Norway, Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Denmark, the baltics, Svalbard, and possibly the Kola-ish area of Russia would make for a good map.

Since you had to ask, you don't understand it. And since you don't understand it, it would take to long to explain.

Scandinavia is an awesome area and Norway is very much a part of it, I don't see what alstergren is talking about either.

I would not like to see this expanded to be the whole Nordic area. I think the four Scandinavian countries are enough.

Scandinavia is named after the scandic mountain range which is in.. yes, you guessed it - Norway.

so making a scandinavian map without Norway is like making a contemporary north-american map without USA..

alstergren is just joking.. Swedes and Norwegians tell funny stories about each other.

but the idea that baltic countries are nordic or scandinavian is against tradition - although they are part of the recently created "nordic battle group" and have been part of swedish and danish empires in the past..
..but that is also true about parts of germany, england and african or american colonies so it´s more logical to go with tradition.

I have not been working on any contemporary (nutida) scandinavian map..
only at the time of the swedish empire of the 17th century.. and a viking map but that one includes british isles and more.
..so the borders on my drafts have very different borders than today.

I have been using "lambert conformical conic projections" just like the one you posted at the start of this thread. Those are the best for smaller geographical areas imo..

CIA maps are usually reliable and good to start with for the first layer.

You need to know photoshop and working with layers to make a good map with all the regions, because you have to use a whole bunch of maps to get it right.
I haven´t found any single detailed map with all the scandinavian counties, regions and provinces combined that is easily available on the internet.

EDIT: My projects are so complicated I´m not really sure I´m making them for CC.. they´re mostly an excuse for educating myself in history.

so I will also try to make a contemporary map of the nordic countries.

It should have put some strategic land marks, like Turku archipelago (had coast artillery base there) which is based on hundreds of islands, and Finland should be shared to provinces "LAPLAND","WEST FINLAND","EAST FINLAND,"SOUTH FINLAND" and "Ahvenanmaa province " and maybe "Oulu province".

I'd like to see the map.

I started work on a Denmark map here but I gave up because I couldn't drop shadows or effectively save layers, but if you want to use it to help your design, feel free.
