Axis and Allies idea

Postby Piestar on Wed Nov 21, 2007 10:24 pm

Not the map, but a mechanism from the game.

I got this idea from World 2.1, one of my favorite maps, but some area's (particularly Greece) are a bit hard to see.

In A&A however, really small territories which had boxes around the edge where you could put your forces.

So my question is this, could a map maker place the circle that denotes the number of armies in a similar bos, with the location name, but where it doesn't obscure the geography?

Why? I thought that was obvious, but I will try to make it more clear...

When a map has a territory SO smalll that the circle into which the amount of armies is placed makes it impossible to see the location looks like, and/or what other locations it borders on, it might be nice to have a protocol for moving the circle to a location that does not obscure the map.

If you look at World 2.1, which was my original example, and look at Greece, it is nigh on impossible to determine that territories borders.

this sort of thing is already on lack's to do list, i think they are called Zoom Boxes in his list.

in any case this threat is better put in the suggestions and bugs forum
"Bullets kill, grenades kill, bayonets kill, the cold kills. Death has a thousand faces. The worst of them all: the Court Martial."

I already flood that poor suggestion thread (to no avail), this was more a question of 'is it allowed now' thing, so I didn't want to clutter that forum up. After all, it doesn't require any changes from XML, map makers simply need to put the coordinates in a different place.

Thanks for the answer though...
