"What If WW2"-Operation Downfall- Aborted Invasion of Japan

Postby Carnifex on Sat Feb 07, 2009 11:17 am

This is an idea I've been floating around with a friend. A "what if" scenario based on the plans of Operation Olympic and Operation Coronet (collectively called Operation Downfall).

One of the basic ideas we have regarding it is that Japan will have some sort of auto-deploy bonus whereas Iwo Jima, Okinawa and the US Carrier fleets will be able to bombard Japan.

We're still unsure how to factor in Kamikazes and whether or not to include the Soviet Union (and thus, parts of Continental Asia)

That is actualy a very good idea and I think the perect solution to the problem that other japan maps have had, which it the banana shape. It would be hard but would be very good.
