The Simpsons' Springfield map.....

Postby KoolBak on Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:54 am

This (http://www.mapofspringfield.com/spring_map.png) is a link to a very detailed map of Springfield.....So far I am not smart enough to make a workable map with the software on this computer......aside from the copyright issue which is easy to get around, anyone have any thots?

PS - here is another link to a funky map of las vegas with almost everything built in......

I like the idea a lot, and I although I'm a huge simpsons fan I never realized how big and fournished that city was. If no one tries to do something with it, I'll do once my exams are done (i.e. in 2 weeks). I think it could be interesting to have ogdenville and shelbyville for continents.

Thanks for the reply SM...you did a great job with the Canada map and my skills are still coming up to speed.......

Maybe every time you lose a battle lack could program a little soundbite that goes "DOH!" and every time you win it goes "WooHoo!".

And of course the background music:

"Beeeeeeeerrrrrrr.oooohhhhhh"
"Gypsy told my fortune...she said that nothin showed...."

if this is the simpsons' springfield, where is evergreen terrace, the place the simpson family lives?
If common sense was so common, wouldn't everyone have it?

It's just that you can view the map in to different ways, one is the whole thing as one file http://www.mapofspringfield.com/spring_map.png, the other is a zoomed-out version, where you zoom in on one small section & navigate around it http://www.mapofspringfield.com/map/index.html.
How about these for continent ideas:-
- shops & the mall (kwik-e-mart, comic shop etc.)
- simpsons family homes (retirement castle, marge's sisters...)
- schools & uni
- power station
- bars & restaurants (moe's, krusty buger, lard lad...)
- leisure (bowl, cinema...)
- the streets
you could either make the continents really wierd shapes that cross each other, or you could just mess with the locations to group them better...
