a) Its much harder to see where anyones countries are.
b) the army circles are now out of place.
c) the white circles make it really cluttered.
d) it strains my eyes to look at it.
e) ARGHHHH!!!!!

I was going to start a game until i noticed the changes-- maybe USSR or Tamriel.

EDIT: think it's a little better now that they lowered the contrast.

the main problem I have is that the whit dots are WAY too overpowering, it kinda burns my eyes. This makes noticing the strengths of the map tough because I can't see much other than the white dots that seem to be everywhere. Make them less bright, and less cluttered looking (somehow), and then I think it would be fine. Otherwise I have no problem with the other color changes.

This is far harder on the eyes than the old way, though I appreciate the effort.

Being the pink player is a little tough on the color differentiation. Other than that, looks good.

I've got to agree with Tomtorresson there should be 2 maps. It'll give people the choice.

changing the opacity doesn't help much for me, I just want the white circles a tad darker, maybe another 5-10% and I think I'd be happy.

I dont think so.

Other than the colour of the hideous army circles, they are out of place when the size is set to small. Hardly any of the circles are- where they should be.

The only problem is the circles.

To answer you question Andy, no I don't think 50-55% would make a difference. I strongly suggest taking them off completely, and making toggling them on optional similar to color codes.

While I appreciate the invitation to the map foundry, I really don't have much interest in making new maps or discussing them. I was unaware that maps such as Classic are often being reviewed for update. I haven't seen many of the maps I normally play change over the last year. My only foray into the foundry was to point out some errors in the Philippines map when it was new.

I just like to play.

I like some maps- I play them. Other I don't like so I don't play them. I liked to play Classic before- now not so much. I would really consider bringing back the old version and if some people want a new one then make one. I do appreciate the efforts of those that enjoy making and discussing maps in any case.

I agree... those circles around the armies are really irritating for some reason.

The old map was much better.. this new one is difficult to read and the light circles are annoying, please remove them.. we want the classic map back!

I think the new version is very nice, and the complainers will get used to it quickly. The circles are good, since certain areas made certain colours difficult to see before. The last time they tried to change the classic map was horrendous. This time is actually better.

Seriously doubt that, I finished one game, clicked the go to next game link and thought WTF is up with my puter it loks like the crap circles are back lol.

I only play this map and AOR Magic, so I guess its just AOR now for me :(

The current strength of army shadow is set to 60%.

Here is a link to other options we went through in the Foundry (some lower options, some higher options).

Would 55% / 50% be more appealing to everyone?

Out of interest was there many requests to change the best and most played map? I think the best posts so far have been the ones saying to make it another map choice so people can decide for themselves.

I am strongly opposed to the new army circles. They are way too light and it makes it very hard to tell the difference between the orange color, pink, neutral and grey. And I'm not even color blind.

Make them darker and the problem should be solved.
