I look at it this way... cable tv is costing me $52 per MONTH! I don't even watch that much TV! Even at $52/mo it still goes on the fritz from time to time...

This is by far the most bang for my buck that I have spent for entertainment!!!

Being unable to predict how many people will be online at a given time, being unable to predict how many new people will join and at what rate, plus lots of other concerns that I wouldn't know about... I think you guys are doing a fantastic job! (and you let people join for free!!!!)

Far as I'm concerned... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

UPDATE: As advised by the database expert, the game log will only load the 50 most recent entries by default. This should be enough to review the action since your last turn. To see the whole game log from the start of the game, just click on load entire log.

This latest game log change will probably break compatibility with the "BOB" user script.

BOB users - please accept this temporary sacrifice to keep the website working for everyone!

For starters, thanks for the hard work and, like others, I really appreciate the site. The $25 is, to me, a complete bargain (that's a movie rental every other month from Blockbuster) and I would certainly pay more if that's what it took to pay for the infrastructure to keep the site going strong. Well, that is, provided we weren't subsidizing an army of cheapskates of course.

Understand, however, that the price has been set by you and it is the understanding of those of us who pay that fee that we should be able to get our game on. Those of us with some degree of patience will tolerate the occasional hiccup but we also feel you owe it to us to truly get past this in a manner that it doesn't resurface again soon like it has of late.

While it is common courtesy for customers not jump up and down and cry bloody murder every time there's an issue with the product, the onus lies 100% on the shoulders of you to get the damned thing fixed and soon.

Believe me, I run a small restaurant, so I live this everyday. Like you, we experience our growing pains and have relied on the patience of our customers more than once. Of course, we've also sucked it up and sent out a lot of free grub and drinks because of these problems and work like hell to not only band-aid the issue but make damned sure it doesn't pop up again.

I trust you will devote whatever energies you have to do right by your customers.

Well then, I feel even stronger about what I said.

To compare it to what I do:

If there was some major screw up at my restaurant and shortly afterwards another very similar one. If I had a dining room full of people who were waiting for their food for the second time in a rather short period of time, I wouldn't exactly expect a standing ovation when I finally got them their food.

I would certainly be happy to hear any encouragement and be certainly grateful to hear that people appreciated how hard I may have worked to finally deliver the product that I was charging them for. However, my main thoughts would be that of embarrassment and obligation to see to it that I would not put my customers through this sort of thing again (at least any time remotely soon).

After all, their only obligation is to pay me for services rendered. To patiently stick with me while I figure out how to serve them is entirely optional and should be, again, something I am grateful for not expecting.

That's all. I enjoy the site and, unlike some of those who are bitching in the forums and saying they're out of here, am prepared to ride it out. That said, as somebody who serves the public, I am entirely aware of the rights of the consumer and am not afraid to exercise them when I am, in fact, the consumer.

I have faith that lack will do what he needs to do...

How would you know what he does in his spare time? Do you know lackattack personally?

Yes this is his full time job. Conquerclub is a personal business, and requires computer programming skills. I wouldn't knock the founder of this site if I were you. He's done amazing things in just over two years, so have some respect.

Don't worry, the mods will let you get away with the flame.

The tone of your post suggests that you were insulting lack. Failing to quote whom you were responding to did not help either. Now that you have been called for what you said, you're trying to take back your words.

Let's keep the flaming out of this. My point is, you need to express yourself in a way that does not convey disrespect to the founder of this site.

FWIW, I have no idea at all why you assumed that was voldemort's stance. I did not get that at all. As far as I could tell, he was simply saying that dude works as hard as he can on the site.

Right - BOB *should* work now - if you get version 4.3.4...

I've tested it a bit - let me know if you have any problems - in the BOB thread please.

Lack, thought i'd drop a note... i suppose there's a better spot for it, but.

When you finish a game it loads the full log instead of just the last 50 lines.

Glad to know the game's being well cared for,

Are you sure? I just finished a few games and only the last 50 lines were loaded.
