comment rated ************************************** (since 5 stars isn't sufficient anymore because of massive inflation, i thought this amount will do.)

i vote yes for this system

Thank you mate, have a look here too, i put in a suggestion, perhaps we can all work on it together? :-

edit: In fact your proposal is very similar to the one i suggested.

Just a quick post.

The ratings and medals is an excellent addition to the game system.

Give it a few months and most but not all of you will be as possessive about this as most but not all of you were about the
feedback system. If there is a subsequent change that gets rid of this (once you've developed an attachment to it) there will be the same
amount of complaining. Almost impossible to do a rating system that is above abuse without taking up a lot of a few people's time moderating.
The feedback data was probably taking up a lot of space - the new system won't. That's a good thing. The system also gives additional motivation for players to explore more of the game types, especially those of a specialised high rank, I guess.
Systems will be abused, some people look for ways to do it and will find it, some people are just naturally abusive... but this system as it stands requires at lot less maintenance and moderation, I guess, and that's also a good thing as that perhaps frees up some moderators to do other useful things.

This is just an opinion, a point of view, not really interested in entering a heated discussion, but well done, lack et al.

This is a good, workable idea. Allow users to give star ratings as now but have a comment box below which must be filled in.
When the stars and comments are displayed, allow the recipient of the comment/stars to post a reply/explanation. If he choses to do so and flags it as a disagreement or unfair, let others mod the disagreement and flag it as a warranted score/ comment or otherwise. There should also be some kind of penalty for people whose scores/comments are regularly overturned.
The other thing is there must be some clearly defined rules for what is not allowed. NO bad language. Etc. and an automatic penalty for people leaving such comments as judged by their peers. Keep moderators and Admin out of it. Let us control it ourselves.

Seems to me that things are just getting more and more complicated. These suggestions to improve things are great but it all seems to be too time consuming and difficult.

Why not leave things as they are but keep the old feedback system as well (with no moderator input). Let it run itself. As people keep saying, if you get a Neg from a moron, people will read it and see it for what it's really worth.

Then everyone gets to keeps their feedback, we can still see if we want to play someone (without having to check games / ratings etc) and we can still leave feedback for a worthy opponent.

The people who have put in time and effort to set this new thing in place can still have their Ratings system as well, so everyone should be happy.

As for myself, if I have no strong feelings against a player I am going to give them 5s across the board. I've tried giving 3s and just get PMs from them complaining....

There. Simple.

Homes idea is very good and straightforward! Maybe you could put it in the Suggestion Forum Homes?

I have also put in a very similar idea into the forum link below.. i have perhaps not described it as clearly as Homes but essentially it is the same but with a Community moderated Forum open to all prior to it being logged as an official Feedback comment:

Communuity Judged Feedback Comment

Go have a look at the thread: comment, say how it should be better, or just say Homes is better if you like!
But maybe we can find the way together! (ahhh sweet;) )

The upshot of the new system is:

Its better for the Mods, and worse for those who aren't mods.
Simple as that. Maybe thats better for the site as a whole (frees up the Mods for other activities), maybe not. Certainly, just as a feedback system, its worse.

The new ratings system is really flawed. At least with the old system someone had to actually write why they were giving you a negative. In this system they can just give you 1 star for no reason. For example...a guy who complains and is a sore loser can just give everyone in the game 1 star and hurt their rating for so reason...

this was just a bad idea and i hope you guys go back to the old system...thats just my 2-cents...thanks

maybe we shouldn't call them mods anymore then, since they aren't moderating anymore, so let's call them peelers.

alright, someone answer me this. What can be done about some num nuts leaving unfair ratings?
especially since by the time you realize that you have gotten an unfair rating the game has been archived and you cant do anything about it, that i am aware of.
I just recieved a 1 star rating for "attitude" I went back into the game and there wasn't any game chat in that game, so what could i have done to recieve this, i didnt miss any turns, so i dont get it.
some one please explain this.

I think the ratings are a little daft  cause if you play absolutely fairly, have no sort of attitude, and have perfect attendance you expect 5 stars... but then when you dont get 5 stars your left wondering why :?: sore losers, people who think 4 out of 5 is good enough well no, 5 out of 5 cause it was an all round perfect performance it should get 5 out of 5.

I would personally like to get a hybrid system where you can leave ratings AND feedback!

I understand that the new system makes it easier for mods... so get more mods. I have a few candidates names... lol

Thanks!!!

this update officially epic phails... It sucks so bad and accomplishes nothing... people are leaving unhonest feedback and now "peelers" aren't doing anything? So you're saying that if I make every turn in a game in the first two hours and someone gives me a 1 for attendance, that's fair? Plus, not all topics are covered... how about basic strategy? No?
