Considering who goes last is randomly determined at the start of the game, how is it a loophole? The only way there could be a problem is if everyone played exactly the same and kept even round after round.

The possile values for this new game option are None, 20 Rounds, 50 Rounds or 100 Rounds.

With round limits, the game will automatically finish at the end of the specified round. The winner will be the surviving player with the most troops. If there is a tie, it will be broken based on the most regions. If there is still a tie, the winner is selected based on join order. This option is great for avoiding stalemates on no spoils games and can add some spice to the game as the deadline approaches, forcing the big guys to fight it out and giving the little guys a chance!

Thanks to steelplayin for suggesting this!

Enjoy

It's not who goes last, it's what order they joined the game. So if I was the one to start it and there was a tie, I would win.

Well done...great option that opens up a lot of options for players, especially those that enjoy no spoils.

Ignore any complaints on this. That is a moot point because you have 'No limits' as an option. If you don't like limits, then don't turn them on :)

They are saying whoever goes last has an advantage because they get to see the troop counts on their turn and end it accordingly. So, whoever is last in the 20th round, has an advantage if the Round limit is on.

Nice on lack - this could be handy.

Would have been poerfect for tournament games if there was a 30 rounds option?

Would have liked the option for a game to be a 'Draw' when the limit is reached (i.e. no winner - no points)

<in response to an earlier post>

i can't see any value at all in this for tournaments as TO's were already able to dictate a game ends at a certain round.

Just curious as to why my last reply was 'censored' and removed? I was very positive about the addition of the round limit.. I just made the suggestion that it should be based on more then just who has the most troops and I gave example as to why that's so and even offered to find a proper mathematical algorithm to determine it.

Anyway.. besides that oddness.. I wanted to suggest that you make the following changes on the 'my games' page.

Currently you have the hierarchy of information as follows:
Round Limit
Round
Time Remaining

It should read as follows:
Time Remaining
Round
Round Limit.

For the following reasons...
The time Remaining is the most important information and it is the one that I am sure most of us look to first. ..
The Round # should be next ..because it actually will change on a regular basis. The Round Limit should be last because it will most likely NOT be different then the default 'none' in most cases.

Just some friendly suggestions to help continue the greatness that is CC!

A small off note: I think this change has messed up BOB's clock calculations, because every turn shows as completing "Tomorrow @ NaN:NaN am". :(

EDIT: :) I puzzled it out, and since sherkaner is on vacation for three weeks, I have posted a patch here in the BOB thread. Unfortunately, I cannot update the file so that people will get the New version available warning and just update from there. They will have to edit the BOB script themselves.

Great new feature!!! A few more options for the round that the game ends would be nice (e.g. 30 or 40 rounds as well), as would a more fine tuned way for determining the winner. I kinda liked the draw idea to some extent, maybe splitting the points?
But all in all, great work =D> =D> =D> . Can't wait to go back to 2.1 no spoils.
