rds has said that this is unchangeable.
That's unfortunate. Then why not change the name of the medals to diamond for consistency?
Yeah, it is unfortunate.
I can't answer that question.rdsrds2120 wrote:
There's no UI friendly way to edit them, and they can only be changed manually in the database by the Head Web Developer, which isn't something we'd want him to use his time on. That said, I've been working with blake to try and make things easier for us UI-side.

Not impossible.
Also, only medals given before the update shows the wrong name, Not all of them

Fixed.
(All the reasons that used to say 'Diamond' should now say 'Platinum')

What a shame, I liked "Diamond" better.

I personally prefer Platinum for the new level. It leaves it open for another level to be added later on called Diamond.

I don't think it's unfortunate at all. Just as misprinted postage stamps acquire value because something rare and unusual has occurred, so will your medals. Once they are fixed and only correct ones are being issued, people with the early mislabelled medals will take on special status. One day you will find yourself bragging to some newbie, "I was here when the Platinum medals were misnamed Diamond, not like you Johnny-Come-Lately!"

Hmmm... I just read further and found out that they've all been fixed. Oh well, so much for your special status. You'll still be able to make that brag, you just won't be able to prove it now...

I am curious as to how they did it!
