As the last 2 bracket final game are opposing "green" (qualified) teams, I will send the Tie Round Robin games today!

isn't it mathematically impossible for Team Gorehound to lose, if max points for the bracket is 21?

At this point "amount of points" doesn't count anymore...its a regular 1/4 Final barcket.

Points were given in the bracket rounds only to made the overall ranking having the eights best team to be qualify.

So the winner of the bracket wins the tournament?

I guess I got thrown off here:

1/4 Final
--> The 4 winner teams roll thru 1/2 Final earning 3 points.
1/2 Final
--> The 2 winner teams roll thru Final earning 5 points.
Final
--> The winner team earn 10 points.

thinking that points were awarded for the bracket, and whoever has the most points at the end of the bracket won, regardless or not they won the final.

That would be a much fairer indication of the quality of whatever team won, Gilligan, indeed. It is to be regretted that the populist change of rules was undertaken after the tournie had commenced. Although leading throughout the tournament and winning three of the five brackets, the team of gorehound/lokisgal/Redfelt is now out after getting a dice hammering where we couldn't even make odds of 5 to 1 work in our favour, so consistently bad were our dice. Three turns we couldn't even take a territ, and 10v3 would end 3v2, etc etc

I think the organizer of the tournament should decide in advance which is more important to him in deciding a winner for these games, to see consistent play, or throw it all up in a lottery at the end. I am very disappointed by the action of throwing it open to a vote (which, of course, was always going to be carried as the lesser teams saw it as a chance to qualify even without being consistently good at play) AFTER play had begun. That is not the time to do it. If that is what you want, do it before the tournie kicks off, when it is in the rules.

maybe this refresh/quoted text below will make you understand better the format, make sure you read the "strikethrough" text as this was in effect before the vote, you will see there isn't much difference? Same format were used for the prior edition (refer to the 2 links as well).

I can feel your frustration to get beat at this point after leading the first part of the competition, however tell me what would be the difference playing tournament with round robin for several games, finishing first of your group and then get qualify to a final bracket stage and be eliminate losing the tournament?

About the change occured during the first days of the tournament, it only added a 1/4 Final game and allowed 8 teams instead of 4 (out of 32 entries!) to be qualify for the final stage, if vote were endend by a "No", does you and your team would have feel better or different be eliminate in a Semi Final game instead and as well losing the tournament?

With that being said I don't realy understand your complain about the format and/or the change. Tournament started July 17th, vote for the change started between August 2nd to 9th (only 2 weeks after start) and today we are December 4th! (4 months and several agmes later since vote), I understand about your oppinion with this vote and respect it 100%, my intentions wasn't to screw anyboby up but only elongate this tournament became popular after his 3rd edition...

Next year will have edition 4 playing quads games using this format and will try to clearly stipulate the rules with NO CHANGE at all.

you signed up for a tournament in which at the time it stated that the top 4 teams make it to a final playoff. i dont feel that you have anything to complain about. yes, your team played very well throughout the tournament ending with the most points. however, when it comes down to crunch time you loss and thats when you want to complain. last years superbowl was won by the New York Gaints who made the playoffs by a wild card (worst record). It just shows thats the teams with the best records lost and whoever does the best during crunch time deserves to win.

Mad i feel that you have done a great job running this tournament. you allowed everyone to vote for the change and the majority were in favor of expanding to 8 teams. i feel like whoever didnt want to expand it had a problem with the new change could of asked to be replaced. again win or loss i appropriate the work you have put into this tournament. keep up the great work.

what kind of bracket are we using? in a standrad bracket where 1 plays 8 and 2 plays 7 and so on. in the second round how does 8 & 7 play each other and 3 & 4 play each other? shouldnt it be 3 plays 7 and 4 plays 8? if its random then the first round should be random and all games shouldnt count. i am just asking before i accept a game that wont count.

If you open the spoiler under 1/4 final, you will find that I took the winner of the 1st game against the winner from the follwing game. (I did the same way on the 6 initials brackets)
Using the rank on the quarter final was a simplified way for me to arrange the teams in the four games than using random.org.

I was asking myself the same question, we should be the final.
