I suspect that only a very small percentage of players actually come into the Forums. And many that do, will leave when they read some of the nonsense that is here. And they never come back. By banning suggs, more people might visit the Forums and actually stay.

This may be one of the best moves the admin has ever made.

How many players have been chased from the Forums by The Pleasant Chaps? That would also be an interesting statistic. Now, there is one less person here that will be verbally abusive to innocent players who want to join in the discussions.

Let me tell you a story. Back before I started frequenting this forum, I used to hang out at the Ctrl Alt Delete forums. The people there were all pretty cool, and even though the comic itself became rather unfunny as time went on, the forum was run by quality people and I had a generally good time there. Then, one day, some guy posted that the guy who writes the comic (Tim Buckley) was a pedo who sent a picture of his wang to an under aged girl (he did).

Buckley promptly banned the guy along with everyone who had viewed the thread (the actions of an innocent man if I've ever seen them). The mods didn't like this much, and unbanned the ones that didn't deserve the ban, so Buckley banned the mods. Eventually he banned every single interesting person on the forum, put up some lackey mods to serve his will, and deleted an entire subsection of the forum. It is now a far friendlier place.

Sure, Buckley could do those things. Hell, he did. Was it right that he made his forums as unfunny as his comic? No. Indeed, he's a total fag.

I'm not saying that lack has done this (or anything like this). I'm saying that sometimes you can something too far, and that a friendly forum isn't necessarily a good forum. My best to Suggs, hopefully they won't keep him out the whole six months.

The 6 month ban point is actually a reasonable thing to talk about. The punishment should fit the crime. That's debatable, I agree.

Because if you type the name of the 'software company' that runs CC into Google, then open its website and then dial its contact number... you'll most likely be answered by Lackattack, because he owns and runs both. Apparently 'personal phone number' and 'number of a company owned by that person' are the same thing on the internets these days... who knew?

Anyway, apparently when somebody runs two businesses, and has made the contact details of the first one very accesible, then it's a bad thing to post that publicly available detail about the first business on the website of the second.

We do nothing. There was a shit storm when Norse was banned. Hell, I think DM is one ban away from a perma ban, and it's only a matter of time. In general a good forum is one without a high level of secret policemanship, and this forum is above and beyond in that category. I like the people here, and that's why I don't leave. Once they ban a few more people I'm out. I suppose it won't matter much, as they'll always have more posters to fill the void, but all the things that are worthy of a ban here are things that make forums enjoyable.

like if someone was here 2 months and got five warnings then Banned thats understandable.
