care to play Age Of Conquest?

Anyone interested in a game of Age Of Conquest?

Set in the Mediterranean region c. 320 BC, it's a wargame that allows for a lot of fun gameplay. My cc name, tiberiusaquila, originally comes from a name I selected for the game. The Illyrians, the Massilians, and myself (Rome, of course) went on to final victory in that particular game, cooperating and plotting together. A coalition of nations is the best way to win although a solo victory is possible.

I have quite a bit of experience at it having played for two years or so in this and other variations.

It's somewhat demanding in that you have to put at least a minimum amount of time into email communications with friends, allies, and backstabbers alike. Hard to tell the difference at times. You do not have to communicate with others, there's no rule stating you must, but mute players are usually targeted as being belligerent. Go figure.

You start with your own kingdom which you direct throughout the game. You accumulate gold with which to hire troops, build fortifications, assembly seige weaponry, warships, and the like. The destruction of your enemies is at the forefront of your every waking moment.

Turns are sent via attached email to the GM and are due weekly. You may send a number of superseding orders per week if your plans change.

If there is enough interest I would be glad to get the ball rolling with the GM. I'll also answer questions as best I can in this thread. Be forewarned that games can take anywhere from 4 to 6 months. I would suggest if you are interested to download the "Diploware" and read the accompanying Word document. It's lengthy and you do not need to know/understand the whole thing before beginning play. The first few turns are more of a feeling out process than anything. The serious drumbeats of war follow shortly thereafter though...
