presidential election poll, read before voting please

Postby bbqpenguin on Sat Oct 04, 2008 6:54 pm

a month from today, the United States of America will elect a new president to lead for four years. i thought it would be interesting to throw this poll up and see how the voters of cc compare to the actual polls. preferrably, i'd like you to vote only if you're eligible to do so on november fourth: that is, i ask that you be 18 or older and a u.s. citizen to vote in this poll. i realize there is no way to enforce this, so i'm just asking you guys to help me out on this one.
if you are under 18/ not a u.s. citizen but would still like to vote in a poll like this, i encourage you to create your own similar, separate one in which anyone and everyone can vote.
if you are eligible to vote but plan on abstaining from doing so, you may go ahead and cast your vote in this poll, but i would still encourage you to take advantage of this privilege and obligation to go cast your vote in november. remember, if you don't vote now, you don't get to bitch about it later!
political discussion is accepted and encouraged in this thread, as long as it stays focused on the upcoming elections and does not involve flaming. if you can't make a case for or against a candidate or issue without using petty insults, you're probably not the kind of person who should be voting anyway. i would ask any mods who read this to pay particular attention to this thread to permit heated discussion but moderate anything out of line
the poll will last exactly month and i allowed for people to change their vote in case they are persuaded by something in the remaining debates or some other occurance

enjoy and i hope this thread survives at least a month so i wont feel like an idiot resurrecting it in 31 days :)

wouldn't you know it, it was the bail out that has decided my vote in the coming election! I can't stomach the republicrat spin machine any longer and I think that it is high time for a new political entity in the white house. This year, I am either voting for Chuck Baldwin(I) or Bob Bar(L)

Bush has ravaged the office of the Presidency and stripped it of any respect that is has traditionally deserved. While the Pubs and the Crats pat each other on the ass for a last feel good "way to go, Team!" before this country slips into a serious depression. 195,000 jobs lost last month and now wall street is saying that the 700 billion, which was jacked up to 830 billion by the time it was all said and done, will not be enough. Never realizing that it was democratic policy for getting poor and credit risky people approved for home loans and republican unwillingness to pay attention to red flags and warning signs along the way to change policy, until it was too late and their own assets were on the line. Bullocks, vote Libertarian!

I am voting Chuck Baldwin because Barr voted for the Patriot Act.

Ron Paul was defeated in the Republican Primaries, though he endorses Chuck Baldwin.

I know he lost the Republican primary,(I voted for him in it) doesn't mean one can't write his name in. But yeah, I went to Baldwin's website and he is like a much younger Ron Paul so I'll probably vote for him. 8-)
