Today, in early voting, a white man entered the polling booth and filled in the bubble next to Obama for president. The vote was counted in the electronic machine. When he exited the county building, the sun was shining and the air was crisp. He was not struck by lightening. He was not accosted by the Minute Men. He was greeted warmly by his Hispanic neighbors as a brother and friend.

By golly, you can do it, a white man can vote for Obama and the world doesn't end. Hallelujah!
