I know, right? But oddly, they do and they don't at various times.
It seems to work very well whenever a politician claims "I provided X amount of jobs, I improved the economy, I saved the economy from a depression, or my plan for the economy will blah blah blah."
How about education? "Oh well, the government must provide that! It just needs to be reformed!" (i.e. the government can fix things!).
