I have a hard time believing your summary is correct, but

"A hyperlink is a graphic or a piece of text in an Internet document that can connect readers to another webpage, or another portion of a document. Web users will usually find at least one hyperlink on every webpage."

How about, "is there any country in the world that's voluntarily privatized their police or did Britain just get the gold?"

Sorry, I guess I should clarify. This is a current events thread. It's also a thread about police, not security guards. There are many security guards around the world.

That's not really clarifying, that's just rejecting out of hand anything that isn't the answer you want. Why even ask the question if you only want a "yes" answer?

Hi, Symmetry! If you don't know the differences between professions, such as police and security guards, plumbers and firefighters, nurses and gardeners, painters and attorneys, perhaps you should consider some remedial coursework? I'll assume good faith and embrace the notion that this is the only issue here, rather than an attempt to derail a thread. Thank you!

So, if the US government pays a private organisation to do policework, they're security guards, if the UK does it, they're police. If the US does it, it's too old to be relevant, if the UK does it, they're the first?

The Financial Times reports Lincolnshire Police Authority is near to completing a deal which will see the security giant build and run a police station in the county.
The contract would mean the security firm would take over jobs currently done by police officers and the deal has caused concern among police unions.
Just over half of the Lincolnshire force's 900-strong civilian staff will switch to become G4S employees.

Things a Security Guard Does:
- call the police
- check to make sure doors have been locked
- enforce trespassing laws on the property of the business or government employing him
Things a Police Officer Does:
- arrest bad guys
- enter homes to search for evidence on probable cause or with a warrant
- demand identification of citizens
- drive fast-Fast-FASTER! than the speed limit and through red lights and stop signs
- enforce all laws anywhere

I didn't.
Symmetry, if you really need attention, isn't there another way you can go about seeking it than your usual routine of message board barrister / conspiracy theorist? It would be great if we could have just one thread that didn't have to revolve around your various issues. Thanks.

Why do you feel the need to enable me? Surely, if I am so wrong, and you recognise this, why would you take so much time addressing me?
