Unhealthy? Probably.
This all reminds me of that woman in A Game of Thrones who breastfeeds her 10-year-old son. Oh, yeah, baby.

Sometimes kids need to be made to do things! It doesn't matter if he/she doesn't want to go to bed or wants to watch tv all day. A good parent realize that it's not by giving your child what it "wants" that is important. It's giving it what it "needs"! That means for example cleaning your room, doing your homework, walking the dog, doing the dishes, working for free in a chinese factory etc.

As a former breast feeder myself, I have to speak up. Let me be clear, that I was discreet. I did not generally use a blanket, particularly when it was hot, but wore clothing that allowed me to feed without being "exposed" for the most part. However, there were times when, well a hand or kick dislodged things... and sometimes I did not realize it right away.
Here is the big thing... I would suspect that you saw less of her boobs than you might on an average beach or at the pool. That's OK, but this .. isn't? Think about that. If Breast feeding is considered to be one of the best things a woman can do for a child. The more is discovered about breast milk, the more benefits are found. Formula keeps improving, but note that it always improves to be more like breast milk. It is never the same.
I don't want to condemn women who cannot or won't breastfeed for whatever reason. BUT, ask yourself why so many women, even today, decide not to do what is clearly so beneficial for their children. Then answer lies a lot in the kind of snickered comments above.
Just think about that.

Wait, that didn't come out right...
