Modular home vs remodeling

Postby squishyg on Wed Jun 20, 2012 10:43 pm

The Mr. and I are planning a substantial renovation to our home. It occurred to us that it might make more sense to just demolish the house and start over with a modular home.

Does anyone have any experience with modular home construction? They sound almost too good to be true.

I would say they vary in quality more than regular construction.

Renovation should be a higher value per dollar spent unless your home is rotten, eaten by termites or something most of the structure should be fine, so it can be re-used. The risk being there are more crooks pretending to be reno contractors than building modulars.

If you get references and can checkout other projects they are working on you should do ok though.
