Should the Government Put a $10,000 Tax on Abortions?

Postby saxitoxin on Thu Jun 28, 2012 10:55 pm

Prohibiting abortion is not legal under the United States constitution, the Supreme Court has ruled, however, today it ruled that taxing the failure of people to engage in specific behaviors the state has deemed beneficial is constitutional.

For instance, a person who chooses not to buy health insurance can be taxed $2,085.

Should a person who fails to carry a fetus to full term be taxed $10,000?
Governments come and go, only court precedents remain. A minority of Republicans one year is a majority the next, and visa versa. Is a 10-course meal tonight worth a year of starvation?

Absolutely. That will drive customers to my Abort-mart franchises offering the $8799 abortion black jack stay, play and slay weekend in LasVegas and Atlantic city. Who knows you might get lucky again and pay for the whole thing at the tables.

If anything, abortions should be mandatory because the prices of abortions are too high. Those who choose to not have an abortion will be taxed $10,000. Saxitoxin, I absolutely agree with you.

Seriously, BBS is on the right track. Anyone here heard of economies of scale? It's time to start mass-producing abortions for the sake of a more efficient national economy.

Preexisting conditions? That's our specialty!

Yes. They should be taxed $10,000. The logic is every baby that is born is worth far more than $10,000 to the government in lifetime tax revenues. If the government is going to lose out on all that loot that is rightfully theirs, they should be entitled to at least get a one time revenue stimulus if the pregnant woman deprives them of her future taxpayer.

The $10,000 will go to help sick babies, so nobody can oppose this measure or else they want sick babies to die.

Personally, I think we should tax all women(with capability to give birth, after they become majors lets be fair) who fail to have at least 2 children. Women's eggs are valuable resources of the state and cannot be permitted to go to waste.

This tax could be a modest 1000$ a year. This would of course be in addition of the 10,000$ tax on abortion. We can't have the future growth and prosperity of the nation dependent on the whims of a few selfish citizens.

I thought you were against more taxes? You just can't seem to keep your story straight, can you?

How much does an abortion cost?
Given the price of most medical treatments here, I wouldn't be surprised if it already costs far more than that.

Yet I do see the humor in how you try to defend Phatscotty, and yet never do so very well. Thank you, Mr. Moderate.
