Well, he worked and died in the US didn't he? lol

Also, he was born in Croatia.

I think you can put him instead of Edison safely. If the Serbians come looking for trouble, we can find a couple of Croatians to give em a piece of their mind

I see the wisdom in Saxi's preventative injunction, and Neitze's tireless pestering. ;)

I will wait until the 11th

The order was tough and theres some sporting and musical notables I wanted to mention but didnt have time. Basically NZ is one of the greatest countries in the world.

Count the number of politicians: 0, why? Because voting for a politician as your countries most important figure is beyond retarded. Actions speak a LOT louder than words and rhetoric.

P.S. I'm gonna give another americans a couple more shots at this. There's one american figure that should definitely be on this list, but that most people have probably not even heard about. (though I mentioned this a while ago on CC, so maybe someone remembers what I'm talking about). Also, juan, no spoilers. I think you know who I'm talking about.

No Hitler? I'm surprised! There are few people in the world who has had as big impact as he has. Albeit not a positive one. But that's no requirement.

I know a few Germans and I know they don't want to hear about Hitler.

Canada's 10 most important figures:

No. 1: Stephen Harper (first member of the reconstituted Conservative Party of Canada - voted and survived three terms, trying to redeem the nation after Mulroney, Campbell, Chretien and Martin).

No. 2: Queen Elizabeth II (though not Canadian, she certainly factors in the top)

No. 3: Either Sir Iraac Brock ("saviour" of Upper Canada in Canada's greatest known defensive conflict) or General Wolfe (the man who allowed England to capture and "mould" Canada)

No. 4: Lester B. Pearson

No. 5: Alexander Graham Bell

No. 6: Prince Rupert of the Rhine (first governor of the Hudson Bay Company, which, of course, encouraged the exploration and settlement of Canada)

No. 7: Samuel de Champlain (the first man to settle interior Canada, aside from the Vikings)

No. 8: Dr. Frederick Banting

No. 9: Louis riel?

No. 10: Trudeau (though it galls me to admit it... the man messed Canada up forever).
