Coincidentally, that is my absolute favorite episode of Star Trek.

Oh, and on topic.

I'm far too lazy to shave frequently or maintain a beard. I also don't want to look quite like a hobo.

Solution? Let it grow for a month or 2, till it my hobo-resemblance hits some key threshold, then cut it off with a hair trimmer thingy (the one I actually use to cut my hair as well, actually I usually cut both at the same time)

This way I get to be lazy while also sporting a scraggly programmer beard at most times.

I hate having more than a week's worth of beardage but I also hate shaving it off completely so I use a beard trimmer and just leave a little rubble. It, along with a nose hair trimmer (which I need every few months) only cost about 20 bucks at Wal-murt.

A month or two?
You lucky bastard. I hit hobo-resemblance level if I leave it for a week and a half.

I need to set my alarm clock to wake me up every 6 hours so I remember to shave. If I neglect to do this, within 12 hours everyone in the same room with me will suffocate.
