Death of the Republican Party Part 2: The Deatherist

Postby Symmetry on Sat Jul 28, 2012 2:19 pm

Mindy Meyer, campaigning for NY State Senate on Republican and Conservative party lines.

This is her website:

Mindy For Senator!

I wouldn't advise clicking, but yes, it is her actual campaign website.

Holy shit.

If "perception creates reality", then the reality of that site is not a victory...

She has the look of a... what's that phrase? Ladder climber?
Renewed yet infused with apathy.
Let's just have a good time, all right?

I was thinking "High School cheerleader", myself. In fact, that main page pretty much screams "Student Council Election" to me.

There's an interview with her:

Here

There is only one word for this website and that word is “rad.”

“It was 100 percent my idea,” Meyer said of the site, which features Meyer in both hot pink and black outfits, with a diamond sparkling-GIF tag line that reads “I’m senator and I know it” and a policy page titled “Diva of the District” in leopard font.

“I’m trying to attract a young crowd and recruit more young people,” Meyer said. “People in politics are out of touch with the younger generation, who are not voting, are not registered.”

“My idea is to make it very contemporary, funky, cool, not like a typical senator’s website. Have you been to Kevin Parker’s website? You could fall asleep when you go to it, everything’s just red, white and blue.”

Who is Mindy’s style inspiration, we wondered?

“To be honest with you, the reason why I initially wanted to attend law school is because I’d watched Legally Blonde and saw Elle Woods,” Meyer said. Eleven years ago, when the film was released, Meyer was about 10 or 11 years old.

“She showed me you could go to Harvard and make it sophisticated. Pink is my favorite color, so that’s technically my inspiration, everything pink,” she said.

I'm sorry but the JAP has no chance winning. Like OMG! How radical! I just got my nails done!

I don't really disagree with her, but I suspect that SHE'S just as out of touch with the younger generation as most of the others in politics, based on that webpage.

Scary thing is that there will be people who vote for her on party lines anyway.

My Xanga had a higher production value than that campaign website.
