Possible Tea Party Gunman Taken Down By NYPD

Another asshole probably from the Tea Party has attacked and murdered Americans.

Fortunately the finest police department in the world was able to take the piece of shit down quickly.

yes, the finest police department indeed. It will come out shortly, that most of the people wounded (if not all) were shot by police bullets.

The gunman shot a former coworker, killing him. He then proceeded to leave the scene and was followed by a citizen who alerted police. Police confront the guy, the guy pulls his gun and the police just start blasting away. Certainly, the police had no choice but to gun down the gunman. Unfortunately, due to the incompetent police, they hit everyone else who was standing anywhere nearby.

The police got the gunman, but they also shot about nine other innocent bystanders as well.

Finest police department? I think that's quite debatable.....

You have it all wrong. If it had been any other police department, at least twice if not three times as many bystanders would have been hit.

I'd say they handled the situation quite competently. Have you ever been to New York? Especially that part of town? Do you have any idea how crowded it is there?

Why is that? Do standard issue sidearms of other police departments carry more bullets?

Have no doubt, if the cops had had more bullets in their weapons, more people would have been shot.

I would not be surprised at all if it turns out that the gunman, who as far as we know at the moment only fired three bullets (at his coworker whom he murdered), didn't shoot anyone else at all besides the single victim.
From the statement by the police, the gunman drew his weapon when the police confronted him and they shot him. The gunman was at almost point blank range, according to police statements thus far.

The first statements issued by the police was that the gunman opened fire on the police officers. They have since backed away from that claim saying now that the gunman may have never shot at the police officers. The gunman didn't have enough time to fire at the cops, the cops were blazing away hitting everything and everyone.

Of course, the cops had to shoot the guy, he was drawing down on them. But come on man, two cops, less than five feet away, can't take down the gunman without shooting at least nine other people in the process? Sheesh. Those cops opened up and they didn't stop pulling the trigger until they'd emptied their guns, at which point they were probably dry firing a few more times before they realized they were out of bullets.

So, what does everyone think? Should the police have issued weapons have smaller magazines so they can't shoot so many innocent bystanders at one time?

It has nothing to do with bullet count, but with the superior marksmanship of NYC police over all other police forces combined. The unfortunate accident of slightly injuring bystanders (and, by the way, probably ensuring they get enough money out of it to never have to work again) would have only been worse.

In conclusion, New York is the greatest city in the world, all other cities can eat shit.

Shees, that co-worker should have brought a gun to work so he could have defended himself!

According to the NYPD, the police didn't shoot any bystanders, they shot flower pots and then then the flower pots exploded into cluster bombs of lethal porcelain that hurtled through the air, cutting down anyone in their path.

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the bystanders were not hit directly by police, but rather the officers' struck "flowerpots and other objects ..."

For this reason, we should not even be thinking about legalizing pot.
