NO "Father's Day" thread?

I don't get father's and mother's day. They're just arbitrary celebrations.

And you complain of the lack of inherent meaning in our lives? What's wrong with finding meaning in whatever we want to?

No, I agree with you guys on Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. There's no point to them either, other than buying shit.

The only days I think are significant are birthdays, anniversaries and Talk Like a Pirate Day.

We nearly lost mine Christmas before last - but he managed to have his heart attack actually in the hospital, where he was waiting for my Mum to come out from having cataracts treated.
