Sure, isn't part of the IRS's job to inform people about what's legal and what's illegal in terms of tax law? I know that the article is specifically worried about "black" churches getting this information, though I personally see no reason why the article should be concerned about them complying with the law.

The IRS is giving specific instructions to churches, based on the race of congregations, on how to be politically active while maintaining tax-exempt status.

This is being compared to the IRS' treatment of conservative groups, targeting those seeking tax-exempt status.

Why was not such instruction given by the IRS to these conservative groups? And another thing, the IRS is a government-affiliated organization. Does anybody else here see a problem with church & state issues?

Sadly I don't see the point. I realise that you're on some level disturbed by the idea that "black" churches comply with the law, and receive advice from the IRS in how to do so, as per the IRS's job. I'm just unsure where the problem is in them doing this.

Do you feel that they were wrong to help groups follow the law?
