I like how this dumbass journalist says "fought for Ukrainian independence during the second World War." LMAO. On whose side does she think he was fighting?! Hitler to the West, Stalin to the East. Ukrainians (and other eastern Europeans) had few viable options back then, and even fewer that can shine immaculate in the blinding light of today's hyper-judgmental cancel culture. Hunka and countless others were allowed to emigrate after the war because the unwinnable 'catch-22' nature of surviving WWII was actually much better appreciated in the immediate post-war era.

A similar situation existed after the American Civil war, when again, reconciiation was valued higher than retibution.

Now, over 75 (or 150 years) later, shrill, virtue-signalling demagogues, many who weren't even alive then, find it to easy to sanctimoniously point fingers and undo the previous generations attempts to bring about peace closure. All for present-day political gain that only tangentilly touches upon the historical incidents in question.

While Seymour Hersh had credible analysis at one time, that is sadly not the case now.
While the Ukraine War has bogged down with the heavy defenses and mines on the current front, neither can Russia go on the offensive in a war that has been an unmitigated costly disaster for Putin and the Russian military. Looking ahead, Ukraine has a superior position and increasing arms arriving. Unless the fascist Russian Republican allies manage to stop American support and allow Russia to get away with the unprovoked attack on its neighbor and eke out a draw, Russia will continue to lose.
