Musmanno first arrived in the U.S. in 2000 under a visa waiver program. After his visa expired, he stayed.

He married his longtime partner and Paola's mother Fabiana Zuin in 2017, when she was a permanent resident. They have four children and two grandchildren.

Now his wife is a U.S. citizen and Paola said the couple recently filed a petition for Musmanno to get his green card.

She said immigration officials confirmed they had received the application and were processing it — something U.S. Customs and Border Protection denies.

"Maybe they can do the same thing that they do to my father or somebody the FBI is looking for or some guy who has bad record or criminal record. I understand that. Of course I want a better country, you know?" Paola said.

"But I don't understand why they deport my father, who has a petition already. I don't understand that. It's not fair. ... My father doesn't have any criminal record, not even a parking ticket."

...so much for priorities to deport illegals with felonies.

It's easier for ICE to go to schools, work places and immigration courts to arrest otherwise law abiding families. The same people who have been in this country for years working and paying taxes.

I do cringe watching protesters waving Mexican flags around burning cars.

awww, look at all the Vaxxed, ukraine-loving, Biden/Kamala/Hilary-voting ambulance chasers in here.

so this fat illegal alien intentionally overstays his Visa [this is called a crime] for 17 YEARS - then gets married & assumes he's in the clear? Because he's otherwise a nice person.
SEVENTEEN YEARS ](*,) !

so... Duka .... when someone is a gentle, nice person, they can break any laws they deem necessary, because they're entitled to?

And somehow this makes Immigration and Customs Enforcement super evil, lol? F.A.F.O. my brain-dead, shit-lib friends.

Hey, Duka, how are you enjoying all that lovely cultural enrichment by the ungrateful swarms in the Niagara peninsula?

There is a difference in jurisprudence between mala in se and mala prohibita.

Crimes that are considered mala in se are things that are inherently wrong -- murder, rape, robbery, fraud, etc., where you're hurting someone and you know damn well that it's wrong.

Crimes that are considered mala prohibita are things are are only illegal because some asshole in government said they should be. You're not doing anything inherently wrong, you're not hurting anyone, you're just annoying the powers that be.

Overstaying your visa is in the same category as forgetting to renew your driver's license: it's an administrative crime, it doesn't hurt anyone, just pisses off the bureaucracy. Should be punishable by a small fine, not by having your entire life torn apart.

I like cultural diversity. And the recent immigrants that I've met have been very nice people.

Duka, mate, you are a part of the problem. The problem of social disconnect huffing societal obstacles in front of more intelligent humans. People who don't exercise rational LOGIC #-o using healthy skepticism are a massive f*cking liability to ANY community.
Cultural diversity is inherently self-destructive - entirely. You are deluding yourself because some parts of your brain aren't functioning properly.

your separation of "moral crimes" vs. "immoral crimes" is valid to a small extent.

This prick wasn't paying taxes for 17 f*cking years.
This prick - like MILLIONS of others - thought he was hollier than thou, and said "F*ck you America, i'm not gonna be honest and apply for LEGAL IMMIGRATION [like allllllll the other honest, RESPECTFUL humans do] , no... i'm gonna take your yummy milk & honey, and park my stinking fat, entitled, lazy Latin-American ass within your borders, AGAINST the law, tax-free, cuz f*ck your legal entry procedures!"

~17 years later~

Queu the sympathy-harvesting left-leaning horse-shit printing machine: "omg, nooooo, how could this happen, why you treat me like this? i was too arrogant to apply legally and didn't want to pay taxes, i just wanted to plow my wife to shit out anchor babies, and enjoy your governmental gibs. omg this is sooo unfair, whhaaaaaaaaa! :-x "

F*ck.
Right.
Off.

Hundreds of innocent patriots' lives were f*cked over for accepting the invitation of capital police to open the capital doors, and stroll through the marked carpet to observe the art and architecture our founding fathers paved for us.

but, god forbid we enforce the f*cking law for once and get a President with some big balls to do proper border enforcement of rounding up freeloading illegals who hate this country.
And for all the smooth-brained, fully-vaxxed, mentally ill, tranny-loving, liberal, left-leaning retards that think J6 2021 was an insurrection: there is nothing on this planet that can cure what you have. Have fun when your mysterious turbo cancer eats you up =D> . Lay down on some train tracks and wait for the light

IF President Obama deported 3 million persons, more that ANY other President in U.S. History, WHY were there NO PROTESTS while he was President? This does make one wonder.

the Obama administration did a historic number of deportations - more than 3 million removals.

https://www.npr.org/2024/12/05/nx-s1-5207967/lessons-learned-from-when-the-obama-administration-deported-millions-of-people

Did President Obama remove more noncitizens from the U.S. than any other president in U.S history?

Yes.

Former President Barack Obama formally removed 3 million noncitizens from the U.S. over two terms – more than any other president in American history, according to data from the Department of Homeland Security.

In comparison, President George Bush removed about 870,000 people; Bill Clinton, about 2 million; and Donald Trump about 1.2 million people during his first term.

The DHS defines a removal as a formal court order expelling a person from inside the U.S. Obama does not hold the record for returns, a separate statistic addressing individuals turned away at the border prior to entering the U.S.
According to the Migration Policy Institute, immigration and enforcement policies and practices under the Obama administration focused on recent unauthorized border crossers and those who had committed crimes.

When combining removals and returns, Clinton expelled about 12.3 million people, the most of any U.S. president overall.

https://elpasomatters.org/2025/02/13/gigafact-fact-brief-most-deportations-obama-trump-removals/

MORE here:
https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/obama-record-deportations-deporter-chief-or-not

As detailed below, the Obama-era policies represented the culmination of a gradual but consistent effort to narrow its enforcement focus to two key groups: The deportation of criminals and recent unauthorized border crossers.

The most recent enforcement figures released by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on December 30 offer the latest evidence of these trends. Eighty-five percent of all removals and returns during fiscal year (FY) 2016 were of noncitizens who had recently crossed the U.S. border unlawfully. Of the remainder, who were removed from the U.S. interior, more than 90 percent had been convicted of what DHS defines as serious crimes.

So, WHY? Because Biden and his cronies made a MESS of the immigration issue and did not continue the Immigration Policies of Obama, starting with Biden's Day One Executive Orders, changing EXPECTATIONS and causing many subsequent CRISES.

I wade into the political morass with a great deal of trepidation because it's extremely ugly in here. In fact, this might be the only thing I say regardless of the response.

But, it seems Trump has decided to back off raids on ag and hospitality because it's hurting business and constituents he doesn't want to lose. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/06/13/us/politics/trump-ice-raids-farms-hotels.html

Um, ya think? How is it that he is only now figuring this out? Anyone could have told him this.

But that seems to be how he rolls because it's the same with tariffs. He goes in, guns a blazing, and then, the most predictable unintended consequences come up and he's forced to go back on his plan.

It seems that it would be nice if he thought about shit before he acted. Is that too much to ask?

Exactly the opposite.

I study a lot of history, and history speaks unequivocally on this subject. Every Golden Age in human history is the result of cross-cultural fertilization.

If you think of Athens in the 4th Century B.C. The original Bronze Age Myceneans had recently been overrun by Iron Age Dorians. At the same time, Phoenician traders brought new ideas and new technologies from the Levant. Meanwhile, the growth of the Scythian slave trade brought fresh genetic material from the Black Sea region. Voila, the Golden Age of Greece.

Think of 17th Century Britain. Not some homogenous Anglo-Saxon blob to begin with, but already a melting pot of half a dozen different Nordic and Celtic strains. And then, a flood of refugees -- Huguenots expelled from France, Jews expelled from Spain, economic refugees from the Pomeranian coast, traders from as far as Egypt, all coming together in the great multicultural and multilingual marketplace that was 17th Century Britain. Voila, the greatest commercial empire the world has ever known! (later a political Empire, too, but the commercial empire came first.)

Think of 19th Century America. A vast swarm of immigrants from a dozen different European nations, mixing it up with Natives, recently freed black slaves, migrants from Spain's disintegrating Empire, immigrants from every significant population centre on Earth! Voila, the explosion of invention and ingenuity that led to the most powerful economy on earth!

Think of Alexandria in the 1st Century B.C., Baghdad in the 12th Century A.D., Florence in the 14th, Prague in the 15th, Amsterdam in the 16th, Paris in the 18th, as well as the aformentioned glories of Athens, London, and New York. All of them multicultural and multilingual swarms of people leading to great explosions of philosophical, scientific, artistic, and economic advancement.

A homogenous society is a stagnant society. Corners of the world where no migrants flow are places fighting against the arrow of time, complacent in their provincial ignorance, slowly decaying, getting inbred, declining, and becoming a sad footnote in the pages of history. Just as the regular flooding of the Nile brought fresh nutrients downriver to ancient Egypt, so the regular flooding of migrants brings new genetic material, new ideas and new methods to society.

Why would you think that? He was working, and jobs normally deduct taxes at source. Even if he found some (increasingly rare) "under the table" job, he's still paying tax. The owner of the business pays more tax because of the labour inputs he can't deduct, and he passes along the cost by paying a lower rate to his "under the table" guys. So, whether you pay overtly or covertly, it's literally impossible to work without paying income tax in some form.

And of course he pays sales tax when he buys things, he pays property tax on his house (even if you rent the tax is built into your rent) he pays taxes when he fills up his car, etc., etc., etc. Unless you move into the bush and wear nothing but bear skins, it literally is quite impossible to not pay taxes in some form.
