Dream Cars

Postby QoH on Fri Dec 30, 2011 2:04 pm

Ok, so you have unlimited money, and can buy any car you want. However, you live in a normal city, and there is no where you can race (except on a track) so no Autobahn and super highways and whatnot. What car would you want?

I have a black eos with red leather seats just like this one since a few month and it's pretty cool.

yeah muscle cars are awesome, the problem is that you can't park those in europe!
also they are not really reliable, drivable in non-straight lines and suck insane amount of gas and burn insane amounts of rubber! wouldn't want it as an everyday car, but they are awesome!
the problem is that QOH made a thread about dream cars but we have to chose a down to earth reasonable choice.

Sorry is that a chevelle? not sure.

in terms of muscle cars I love the 69 charger

and the 68 camaro

I'd go with a stupidly fast sedan, like a BMW M5 or a Mercedes S65 AMG. Maybe an Audi RS6.

I don't dream of the car I drive everyday. It's the Chevelle's little brother the Nova. I could drive and park one of those in most of the places I drove in Europe. It's not much bigger than the Mondeo 4 door sedan I drove there in 2000. It wouldn't turn as well as the Mondeo without suspension modifications but with the right set up it could turn better than many older sports cars.

duh, of course you can park it, what I implied is how long are you going to drive around to find a parking space big enough. european cities are less done for cars than american cities, there is a reason why we have much smaller cars in general than you guys. having a muscle car like that in a city like paris must be a nightmare.

Since the car decreases in value, you would lose money. Why buy the car?

So, we're going to ignore the fact that it's smaller than the rental I drove around France?

what is smaller than what? are you trying to demonstrate a muscle car is a practical everyday car suited for european cities?

I don't have enough money to do that so I guess I won't. It would not be as difficult as you think. I could easily operate an SS Nova in France much like a Lamborghini, in fact it would be more practical and less expensive in that case.

I'll repeat what I said it's no larger than the Mondeo rental car I did not have problems driving through France. With the right modifications it would handle even better.

If you are stuck thinking every muscle car is a 1969 charger that's ok but not accurate at all.

I would love to drive a large GM muscle car there but then parking does become a challenge and you better know the route you hope to take trough some towns or your going to be backing out of a narrow street soon enough.

well a lamborghini is an example of practical everyday car, lol! anyway, the OP and the title are unclear. If you have to pick a dream car you don't talk about the money and you don't talk about the practicality.

QOH seem to be chosing on a reasonable budget scale and also based on practicality, kind of.

if we go a little over budget I just love the aston martin vantage (not necesairly the convertible, but the convertible is cool too)

Speaking of the year 2000 there were these really cool MGs over there I think it's the model F, I would like to try one of them out to see if they drove as nicely as they looked.

Where's the love for those Bugattis?
