I know this story isn't exactly vetted, but just out of curiosity would you Obama supporters have your opinions of the man's candidacy altered in any way if it turns out that the allegations of deception and forgery (a felony ) proved to be true?

I don't know about that, but there is an unspoken dynamic which is coming to light in the words of Obama's proposed legal counsel.. That being that the majority of people who see this as a non-issue wouldn't dispute Obama's candidacy even if it were shown that he was not a natural born citizen.

I'm really hesitant to trust the summary of a court proceeding from a website called teapartytribune.com (anymore than I'd trust the summary of something else from owsnews.com) ... I did manage to sit through the first 20 minutes of the video of that hearing, I didn't have time to watch the whole thing.

First of all, Apuzzo just doesn't seem like a very good lawyer. I don't know for a fact but I'm guessing he might be along the lines of some other attorneys in this controversy (i.e. Orly Taitz) and received his law degree through correspondence course.

As far as the summary that TPT.com crafted, it doesn't seem to correlate to what really happened in the video. Apuzzo made one argument about a petitioner being required to certify the eligibility of a candidate to which the judge said "so is your case here about the nominee or the circulator?" to which he stuttered and then said "... the circulator? ... the circulator!" at which point the Obama attorney objected saying they couldn't respond to that because that's not the case Apuzzo originally brought. That seems reasonable, you can't expect some lawyer to prepare for a case other than the one which was filed and isn't quite analogous to admitting they couldn't prove the certificate was authentic as TPT.com said.

That said, Obama has obviously gotten a pass on the whole birth certificate thing but it looks more like that's a result of the only people objecting being attorneys trained from online law schools who are in over their heads than anything else. I'm no lawyer so maybe I'm wrong on all of this.

probably none of you guys are true americans; you are all european, asians, africans descendants.. so because your grandpa or your great grandpa made it to the US you are looking down on people who are like second generation? how stupid is that? the US is just a regroupment of different nationalities,your country is among the newest in the world, not even 250 years old and isn't based on a specific ethnicity.

in france we have a norwegian born and raised woman with french passport running for president (the elections are this week end) and we are not making a big deal about it, even if she has a huge accent.

I don't think Scott, et. al., are arguing Obama is engineering a vast conspiracy to propel Kenya to world power status. The only argument is whether Obama forged his identity documents or not.

The U.S. and France do not use the same constitution. France uses a constitution imposed by a military junta after an army coup d'etat in 1958. The U.S. uses a constitution approved after a convention in 1783 (which followed an army coup d'etat in 1776).

- Article 65 of the French constitution requires members of the Conseil Superieur be French citizens.

- Article whatever of the U.S. constitution requires the U.S. President be a U.S. citizen.
