Some of you will remember when i did this before - you've all seen TV shows where the contestants try to guess what other people said ("we intervewed a hundred members of the public and they said...") - well, that's what this is.
You're NOT trying to guess what other people said - this IS the survey. Your answers (from those of you who can be arsed to give them) will be tabulated along with those we've got from elsewhere (comedy class, quiz evening, party etc) and then used in a game at some point in the future.
Answer as many or as few as you like - this is not particularly scientific, just a bit of fun.

Definitely wasn't a general during Gettysburg, but he said "commander" (I wonder if anyone would mention a Naval leader just off the top of their head). A lot of those guys that distinguished themselves got promoted to Brigadier General after the war, right before they retired, so they'd get better pension benefits.

Cool, thanks for looking that up. I'm pretty sure he retired as a Brigadier General. He led the most impressive small unit maneuver in the American Civil War, was a hero of mine when I was a boy.
