Indeed, so accustomed have Americans become to slow economic growth and stubbornly high unemployment, more than three years into the 'recovery,' that it may not even seriously threaten Barack Obama’s re-election prospects. No one thinks the economy would be doing much better with someone else in the White House. They are probably right. It is telling that neither Obama nor his Republican opponent has offered much of a plan to spur the economy, at least in the short term."
No matter who's elected, you guys are screwed. The only question is how bad you'll be screwed.
Seriously, your two-party system will always result in disaster as long as you keep selecting the two worst options as candidates.

After watching both candidates speak and after watching Romney in the primary debates, there is no question in my mind that Obama is going to wipe the floor with Romney in the presidential debates. Obama is a more charismatic speaker and seems, at least right now, to have more substance (i.e. concrete ideas) than Romney. Maybe that will change. But Romney sucked in the debates and the Republicans tried hard to find someone other than him (Michelle Bachman, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Chris Christie, etc.).

i've learned from watching romney that he can be whatever people want him to be.
i don't think it's out of the question that he could "remake" himself to be more aggressive and substantial than obama, if there's enough pressure on him to do so. unlikely, but possible.
