I felt great joy when the hound abandoned Joffrey, saying "f*ck the King!".

Also, it wasn't really clear on whether Tyrion died or not. Surely he didn't, right? He's like the coolest character of the show, it wouldn't be the same without him.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait until tonight to find out the answer to this. Goddamn patience is a virtue, or some shit like that.

tyrion wont die, he cant so many fans love him that he is a character that wont get killed. i havent read the books so dont know if he gets killed in them but even if he does i doubt the writers would kill him in the show since peter dinklage has done such a great job and is the best part about GoT.

im a little disappointed with dany storyline this season , she was huge last season but this season she has been pushed to the side and not much has happened and with 1 ep left not much can happen. i hope next season they do something better with her.

More like sexier than before.

Sweet, though, glad he's not dead.

They killed Ned Stark... why wouldn't they kill Tyrion?

I know they are varying from the books in modest ways... they HAVE TO to condense the story for TV.

I am pretty sure GRRM setup the deal so that they HAVE to follow the main plot of the books. It's his baby... he;s been on record saying that if he dies he's setup his trust to not let anyone else write / finish the last books. You think he'd let HBO change the story?

because sean bean knew his character would be killed in the first season , thats why he signed on for it as people wouldnt expect such a high profile actor to get killed off. Ned stark was the big shock death that you dont see on tv these days pretty much telling the audience anything can happen but in reality we know differently. A show cant kill off beloved characters one after the other and expect people to be ok with it.

Tyrion is different mainly because he is the breakout star of the show and peter dinklage is just terrific with the part. he already won an emmy for the part which studio's care about. and if tyrion was ever killed it would change the dynamic of the show entirely , we all like the lannisters just a little bit because of him if he was gone they would be hated universally which would make the kings landing scenes less enjoyable. plus he's the one that slaps joffrey around if that aint reason enough to keep him alive then nothin is

I'm confused about who exactly torched Winterfell. I thought it was those loyal to the Starks, trying to take back Winterfell, who had the it under siege. But they wouldn't sack the place, would they?

I know you do not like spoilers so I won't even offer one, but I'm sure you'll find out very quickly next season. I believe that was intended to be a major cliffhanger that instead appears to just be causing confusion on every site I've read (in addition to confusing a few of my friends).

I think it could have been handled better by the show to be an even better cliffhanger... but it was still too great of a finale to get hung up on that point.

My impression was that it was the Iron Islanders as they left. It didn't show it, but that's what I guessed happened. You wouldn't think the Stark bannermen would do it.

Dude. You are so friggin clueless. This book series is defined by the author killing off characters you thought were too important to kill. There have been small changes in the TV adaptation but so far everyone who died in the book has died in the show. In fact they killed off a few characters that didn't die in the books. Dany's blood rider, horse, and serving girl to name a few.

Yeah I didn't think about that but I guess that didn't make much sense. In the book the end of Theon's story plays out a bit differently, the result was the same but you would have been a little more clear on what happened. I'm sure they'll make it clear next season.

I'm definitely looking forward to it. Honestly I'm kind of sad that the season's over, I've been looking forward to Sunday nights for a while, but now there isn't much good on that night.

Anybody know when the next season starts?

I'm not saying he should be killed.

Also, I have read the books (at least the first 4 and halfway through 5)... so I know what happens in the books.

My point / question is... if someone dies in the books, I believe they will die onscreen. I believe GRRM has setup the contract that this is codified in there, and I don't think he will waver from this. So far it has been true.

Have you read the books? Are you saying GRRM won't kill Tyrion.... or HBO won't kill Tyrion.

**Possible spoilers/ speculation based on sequels. Do not read if you haven't read the books**

I'm probably gonna have to start rereading soon (hooray unemployment!), because I am confused as balls.
I do have to say, most of the changes they've made from the books (way less wandering) have been appreciated, but I do wonder how they're gonna spin what just happened at Winterfell.

Given that it's just finished and that there are only 10 episodes a season, I imagine next season will be around in about 9/10 months. Long wait. At least the next season of Dexter will be starting in a couple of months to give me something to watch on a monday now that Game of Thrones has finished.

:re killing Tyrion - The Lannisters

I haven't read the books, but I'd be surprised if they killed Tyrion. Tv shows are obviously nothing like books. There's very little feedback between audience and author, and what feedback there is has no significance on the story. Tv is entirely different because audiences impact the story all the time. Executives have to find an audience, and then keep it. If It's apparent that some characters are beloved by the fans, then the actor playing that part because an elevated asset to the show. Kinda like in sport if a player is performing well for a team, why would you let that player go? You wouldn't, you keep him around and milk him for all he's worth. Alternatively some characters just don't spark fans interest at all, or spark negative interest, and where there might've been an idea to have that character around for longer, it is seen as damaging for the show and the actor is let go.

While Game of Thrones is an ensemble show, obviously some parts are more valuable than others. On the other hand being on a cable channel probably gives them a bit more leeway in terms of ignoring the audience than being on network Tv. So in the end I dunno if they'll kill Tyrion or not.

As for the rest of the Lannisters, I guess I'm in the minority in that I like all of them. I think Cersei is great, I love seeing that conflict between right and wrong and how it ultimately doesn't affect her actions at all. The conflict is there but it doesn't stop her doing deplorable things.

And Tywin is a totally awesome underrated character. I'd like to see more interactions with him and the other characters.
